It’s a sacred mountain that’s now full of corpses that can’t be removed and literal bags of shit and most people can’t get to the top without wearing an oxygen tank. Not only is it too dangerous and too unpleasant, literally the only reason to do it is to say you did.
Almost certainly, but sherpaing is also one of the only well-paying jobs in the region. If you want people to stop being desperate for a livable income there needs to be alternatives.
