In the Netherlands we have this cute concept called Unwrappd. Cans are packaged in an extra sleeve. With four beers of the same style they come in a box. You can taste them blindly and firm your opinion, before peeling off the extra wrap. I tried two from the Bock Bock, today!
Reminiscing with the pictures and the conference beer: Dutch Craft Beer Conference 2024 was great!
So is this altbier. Süffig und würzig, clean, malty, toast, dry. Nice floral and spicy hop aroma with a balanced bitterness. Tiny little ester.
Wow wow I don’t drink coffee but NITRO Coffee Ale? Please and Thank You!
#surlyBrewing cuppa-Joe in a pint glass, huge coffee nose and a smooth body with a rich roasty finish. Drank it with some cheap chocolate for an extra treat! #craftBeer#coffee@beersofmastodon
Went to Peabody Heights Brewery in Baltimore, MD today for another drag show. The show was amazing. So much fun with the queens today.
The beer was overall very good. The base Astrodon Hazy IPA was really good, but all the variants of it were somehow lacking compared to the base. Their Belgian beers on tap happened to be better than their IPAs, and that's unheard of for me lol.
Got a preview of their upcoming arcade space. Definitely keep an eye out for that come March.
Wild gose with tomato, red pepper and pink salt. The brewer went out of his comfort zone, hence the name.
Tomato, salt, umami. The sour and funk are still very present. The pepper is subtle and, contrary to what I'm used to, more present in the mouth than the throat. Bloody Mary, or Caprese with balsamic vinaigrette, salt and pepper. Definitely unique!
Yesterday, I attended the Dutch Craft Beer Conference. A day packed with presentations, workshops, booths and networking. Topics ranged from trends in beer land, sustainability and packaging to new yeasts, old grains and machine learning to predict fermentation duration. Lots of fun! 🍻 @beersofmastodon#craftbeer#beer#conference#DutchCraftBeerConference#DCBC24
So happy to finally try #revolutionBrewing Deth series! Continuing a vanilla theme, it’s Vanilla Deth imperial stout.
Turns out this is a 2021 can - it’s aged well with a vanilla malty nose and a smooth body. Vanilla caramel with a little kick on the finish to remind you it’s 13.6% ABV.
I like RAL 9010 as a color on walls, but not as a beer. It's just a bit too far from white. Extremely bitter, as a wit with 75 IBUs.
Know your Classics. Chimay Tripel is deliciously rich. Apple, apricot, orange, spices. In the mouth, there appears a hint of smoke, too. Full bodied. Firm malt sweetness and just enough bitter to compensate. Beautifully golden with a very stable head. 🍻
Drinking a Cushwa Brewing Dun - Mixed fermentation Grisette aged in Big Cork Vineyards white wine barrels with Viognier grape must and dry hopped with whole cone Amarillo - 5%
It’s #stoutThursday and the weather here in MN has totally taken a Left Turn as we continue (nearly) snowless 2024!
Time for a Hard Left #stout from #spiralBrewery. Keeping it local but still snow-free, it’s a smooth slightly sweet brew with a light bitter and coffee finish.
Closing out with #surlyBrewing CoCo Nitro Darkness, super smooth cocoa, deep and barrel- aged sweetness, really ending up as the favorite of the 2023 varietals!
