AlternatePersonMan,

Ah yes. Louisiana, the beacon of education, progress, and economic success. Let us follow their lead to prosperity and health.

AlternatePersonMan,

It doesn’t matter. It will be too late. She’s just trying to delay.

AlternatePersonMan,

350,000 people in the U.S. died of COVID in 2020. For reference, 25,000 died of the flu in 2019. Out of nowhere, Covid became the third leading cause of death.

Any respectable news source tends to report on things like that.

Those saying that Covid was “just the flu,” or “not a big deal,” is delusional.

AlternatePersonMan,

Blame Reagan. Turns out that getting rid of that pesky government oversight did allow corporations to thrive… At the cost of consumers. It’s been a long slide, but the pandemic showed companies just how much they can get away with.

There’s like 3 major airlines, 3 cell providers, and 10 companies that make most of your groceries. Profits are up, and so are prices. Competition is all but dead. To quote Highlander, “There can be only one.”

Biden rips ‘convicted felon’ Trump, says ‘something snapped in him’ (thehill.com)

“Here is what is becoming clearer and clearer every day. The threat that Trump poses would be greater in a second term than it was in his first term. This isn’t the same Trump who got elected in 2016. He’s worse,” Biden said, according to prepared remarks…...

AlternatePersonMan,

Nothing snapped. He has always been a piece of shit. He’s been a liar, cheat, rapist, fraud, moron, and a piss poor businessman his entire life. There are no shortage of stories backed by very real evidence. Much of it is on video. The difference is that now it’s out in the open, and for some reason that appeals to fellow idiots and racists.

The real story is how broken our education and legal systems are. I knew there were problems, but it’s so much worse than I could have imagined.

AlternatePersonMan,

Last I read, Microsoft had $80 billion in cash on hand. I’m pretty sure they have the resources to run whatever the fuck they want.

AlternatePersonMan,

We should be so lucky. Plenty of games (and movies) already have ad placements. The NHL recently added fucking banner ads with motion to the boards. I can’t even watch that shit anymore.

Firefox doesn’t have an extension for that yet.

Fuck. Advertising.

AlternatePersonMan,

Dude is a lying, treasonous, rapist, but per snopes he surprisingly has attended all of his children’s graduation ceremonies.

AlternatePersonMan,

"customers’ real-time location information, revealing where they go and who they are.”

All of them did it. That either means collusion or they’re all evil and bold enough to do this despite the risk. Either way, this was not an accidental slip up or a hack. Jail time and a crippling fine is the solution. This is neither.

AlternatePersonMan,

Seconded.

Dreamcast was solid. Decent games. Sega just had their collective heads up their assess. No one had confidence in their consoles. Genesis was a surprise smash hit…then Sega just spewed out consoles; 32x, Sega CD, mega drive, Saturn… Probably more. In that same time span Nintendo released…N64.

No one wants to buy a console that is outdated in a year or two. That game library is tiny and none of your friends have it.

Build a winner, milk it. Release another winner right as the previous one is winding down. Nintendo has mastered that formula.

AlternatePersonMan,

I didn’t count handhelds. Seems like a different-ish market. Interestingly, I thought the game gear was way better than original game boy… Except it absolutely ate batteries.

I’ve never heard of the N64 DD. The 90’s had so many weird consoles.

AlternatePersonMan,

It needs to be law that all public officials release their tax records…Also no stock holdings.

AlternatePersonMan,

If we had a different process for appointing justices, her age/health wouldn’t matter as much. The problem is that if she dies during a conservative presidency, our already skewed supreme court becomes a radical supreme court, because a Republican will appoint a very conservative justice.

The United States leans left (~54% I believe), but even if the nation is a 50/50 split, a supreme court that is 6/9 far right already wildly misrepresents the people. 7+ leaves most of this country without a voice.

AlternatePersonMan,

Thanks for the great write up. I’ll take a look at these. I’ve read a few reviews about keychrons having defective keys, etc. Any issues there?

That’s where I was leaning towards, but I haven’t ever used one.

AlternatePersonMan,

For games that actually come with all of their content? Not at all.

For games that have pay to win, scummy dlc, etc. Extremely.

AlternatePersonMan,

My favorite genre. I feel like we’ve seen a resurgence of every other genre. Bring on the RTS games. I would do terrible things for Warcraft 4. I will definitely check this out.

AlternatePersonMan,

My only complaint (other than I’ve always hated when they recycle maps from previous games) is that you need Internet connectivity to play these. That completely defeats the whole point of the Switch.

AlternatePersonMan,

I definitely could not access them without Internet. This was after they had been downloaded and played. The error even said as much. Maybe they’ve changed that since? Hopefully…

AlternatePersonMan,

If I put it in airplane mode, voila: (sorry for the crummy phone capture). You can still play the default courses, but this is complete bullshit.

AlternatePersonMan,

You can play the original courses, but not the booster courses. Once you quit the game and lose your internet, no more dlc.

I suppose if you don’t change games you might be fine. But it feels like a low blow on a system marketed for it’s portability.

AlternatePersonMan,

Can you imagine how many problems simple term limits would fix?
