Bondrewd,

Still, want to mess around with my overkill hardware. :P

Bondrewd,

I have seen the soap opera effect on my Samsung oled, I just wonder if it can get any better if I have multitudes the processing power.

If it is reported, then it can be done. But my question is with what? :P

AYANEO NEXT LITE handheld announced with SteamOS Linux | UPDATE: Not SteamOS Apparently (www.gamingonlinux.com)

UPDATE: Despite saying they were using SteamOS on the homepage, they’ve since clarified that it’s actually “an optimized version based on HoloISO”. HoloISO seems to be a community compiled version of SteamOS. It’s very similar but it’s not officially SteamOS....

Building a cheapino. Since I had to order pcbs, I will build 5. How much would you put it up to sale for?

I am new to ergonomic and programmable keyboards, but something felt fun about making it as cheap as possible by doing 5 at once, and cheapinos at that. I spent quite a few hours on slimming down the cost and ended up spending roughly 35-40 bucks per board, switches and keycaps included. For this I have:...

Bondrewd,

Lol. I ordered 10 cheapino v1 boards and 10 v2. Either one I will use, the other will serve as bottom plate.

I guess the making cost of this keyboard is literally the cost of a PCB kit. You are right. I thought of doubling it.

Bondrewd,

Yeah, I knew the risks when I ordered it. :D I didnt really want to wait or reorder. But as I said, I also got the v1, I will have a use for the prototypes as cover if they dont work.

Thanks for your work sir!

Bondrewd,

Thank you! Im sorry if that made you worried in any way, I just really wanted the extra functionality.

Bondrewd,

V2 has place to solder hotswap adapters while V1 only lets you solder onto the board.

Bondrewd,

Yeeah, I figured 100% PCB is pretty expensive. I want to do the minimum 5 amount, non-assembled PCB.

My main issue is not selecting the PCB service, I primarily need PCB gerber files for 100% keyboards.

AM5 cooler that 1. Is offset away from PCIe like the nh-d15s 2. the contact point is offset downwards like with the nm-amb15 mounting kit?

It turns out I can do fuckall with my nh-d15 on my new setup. GPU wont fit full stop. Im very skeptical with trying to purchase nh-d15s this time around, as Im pretty sure I wont be able to use the offset mounting kit for it without running into the same issues that need that cooler to begin with....

Bondrewd,

Turns out even U12A hangs over! There is no usable air cooler that I would put on a 600$ motherboard with a 600$ CPU. Even nh-d15s hangs over! What the fuck?!

Ended up buying Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 for considerably cheaper than nh-d15. Get this: it has the offset ability as well.

Bondrewd,

Asus x670e gene is an M-ATX board but it is geared towards overclocking. They probably didnt take air coolers into account. It only has one x16 reeally close to the CPU. Also the ONLY PCIE-5 M-ATX board in europe.

I didnt expect this at all.

Bondrewd,

Good point of view, I missed that being upset all night. :D

I think the board is pretty well thought out when it comes to that. It has a ginormous SSD expansion card/heatsink, only 2 RAM slots as 4 is not really useful, reportedly very terrific VRMs. Though it had its price.

Bondrewd, (edited )

Maybe. But on the other hand:

  1. Current zen4 CPUs have issues with 4 sticks.
  2. 4 sticks do not mean a substantial performance difference as it will use same amount of channels(maybe even worse as the clocks are lower?).
  3. Every singular RAM stick is already technically dual channel so 2 slots are already quad.
  4. 96GB maximal memory is supported now. Probably even more in the future.
  5. Also this board can overclock to and use 8000Mhz sticks without batting an eye. Although not that useful yet.

There are 2 PCIe5 SSD slots and 1 PCIe4.

Bondrewd,

Yeah I ended up taking a peek. Literally NOTHING was compatible that I would put on a 7950x3d. It has such a miniscule headroom, not even the nh-d15s, or even some of their smaller coolers would go on it. Ended up with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420.

Bondrewd,

Not really an option to swap at this point anymore. Well whatever, Im more satisfied with the cooling abilities of the AIO anyway.

Bondrewd,

You clearly havent looked at their micropc and pocket 3 with the serial port and display in capabilities. Pretty awesome.

Bondrewd,

Makes absolutely no fucking sense. The explosion does not even happen where the camera zoomed out from.
