So wait for the rescheduling process to be completed. In the meantime, tell your state to decriminalize it so that once the feds are done people stop getting locked up for violating state laws.
Even the HHS secretary can’t just deschedule a drug on a whim. The HHS secretary has to present evidence that it shouldn’t be scheduled, and then the DEA has to get involved, and it requires input from the public and experts in the field.
The easier solution is for congress to amend the CSA. Putting the blame on Biden is disingenuous, especially given the fact that he’s trying to move things in the right direction.
I never said it was a solution. It should be decriminalized entirely. But in the meantime, decriminalizing it at the state level helps everyone in that state. Any harm reduction is worth doing.
Ok, it is a bit disconcerting that she was so easily able to fraudulently obtain mail-in ballots. But fraudulent ballots =/= fraudulent votes. I assume there’s a method in place for verifying the authenticity of a mail-in ballot. I’m sure they check it against voter rolls. What was she trying to prove, that it’s too easy to get a mail-in ballot? Not exactly a voter fraud smoking gun 🤷♂️
The article said she sent the fraudulent ballots to her Republican representative, I’m guessing to say “look how easy it is to get fraudulent ballots” since her rep is a conspiracy theorist who thinks the election was stolen. I’m curious if there’s a mechanism in place to catch people obtaining fraudulent ballots who don’t literally send proof of their crime to an elected official.
The article was kind of vague, but I read it to mean she obtained the fraudulent ballots using methods available to the public, not in her official capacity.
Either way I love the fact these people prove themselves wrong and then go to jail for it
Definitely my favorite part of the story. I’m sure that once the ballots are cast there’s some sort of verification process, because why the hell wouldn’t there be…I guess I’m just confused as to why there’s no verification when the ballots are requested in the first place. It’s one thing to commit identity theft and use a real person’s name and SSN, but the fact that you can just make up a name and SSN and get a ballot sent you you baffles me.
That’s what I do anytime some MAGA relative starts whining about something on Boomerbook: “is this that cancel culture I’ve been hearing so much about?”
I think in order for it to be cancel culture I have to refuse to spend money on it. We should all be legally required to spend money on things conservatives love. That way we can make sure there’s no woke residue.
Yeah it’s hard to have a good faith debate about a post that wasn’t made in good faith. Anyone who’s being intellectually honest wouldn’t try to equate these company mascots.
Adding a bit more to the discussion on whether game subscription can be “the future”, it looks like despite the heavy push made in the past decade, subscriptions only make up 10% of total video game spending in the US....
All I want is a way to rent PC games before I buy them. Gamepass kinda works for that, but I REALLY don’t want yet another subscription service. I suppose I could buy them from Steam and request a refund if I don’t like it, but I hate paying that kind of money up front and downloading a 100 GB game just to turn around and refund it.
I know, right?! I remember downloading a demo (or popping in a demo disc) that let you play like one mission or a set amount of time in a game. In the era of 120 GB downloads why can’t I download like 5 GB of the game and try it first?! The only answer I can come up with is that, much like the charlatans of old, they know a lot of it is shit so they have to grab your money and run.
