Campaigns Can Now See What You Watch on TV. (www.notus.org)

Televisions that can stream platforms like Hulu or Max usually come loaded with technology that collects information on what viewers are watching, and buyers consent to have their viewing tracked when they open their new TV and click through terms of service agreements. Sometimes, data firms can connect those viewing habits to a...

The Best Email Aliasing Providers in 2024 (blog.thenewoil.org)

Email aliasing is one of the most underrated privacy techniques that has yet to go mainstream. For the privacy-conscious user, it offers a degree of separation between all your accounts, making it harder for data brokers to correlate your various accounts across different services by not using the same email address to sign up....

I use the one that’s built in to the Fastmail service. I have a custom domain just for aliases. The Fastmail alias-creation API is integrated with the Bitwarden app (which I use) so that makes creating new accounts (that use email addresses as usernames) on websites really easy. I also use Spamgourmet which is free, convenient, and has been around a very long time. No custom domains there, but they let you use a variety of their domains and they have some short ones which is nice, but I do find that they’re blocked pretty often, mostly by major mailing list services.

I’d like to put something up that will outrage and provoke them. The CoS has a few items that might do the trick: www.churchofsatan.com/sources-artifacts/

While I’d love to add my opinion to the Play Store reviews, there’s no way in Hell I’m installing some kind of Christofascist malware on any device that I control.

No maximally-cruel executions for free-thinking (allegedly having or expression thoughts, or doing deeds, contrary to those mandated by some religion). Burning at the stake, totally fake, yeah.

Many prehistoric handprints show a finger missing. What if this was not accidental? (www.theguardian.com)

scientists led by archaeologist Prof Mark Collard of Simon Fraser University in Vancouver say the truth may be far more gruesome. “There is compelling evidence that these people may have had their fingers amputated deliberately in rituals intended to elicit help from supernatural entities,” said Collard.

I’m into field watches and Fliegers and I love the look of this. Reminds me of my Seiko 5 SNK auto. I have freakishly small wrists so 40mm is a bit too big whereas the mid-30s Seiko is just right. I’m not familiar with this brand, would be interested in hearing what kind of rep it’s got given the price-point.

Help me choose an email aliasing/forwarding service!

Edit 2: For anyone finding this in the future, I chose Simplelogin simply (pun intended) because I was eligible for a 50% off coupon. If I couldnt have gotten that, I would instead use Firefox’s Relay because it’s super cheap and you support Mozilla in the process. People seem to forget that if Mozilla goes bankrupt and can...

Check out spamgourmet.com . Fresh 90s UI, unlimited aliases using their domains (ex: xoxy.net), and completely free. It’s not an email service though, they only do forwarding.
