I like how it just looks like a log being shaved into extremely thin sheets.

There are plenty of videos showing people beating the game using one hand with disability controllers as well as entirely with voice controls or controllers that were specifically designed to be as stupid as possible (like bananas).

I’ve spent $160 on Elden Ring (base game on PC and PS5 and I have the DLC on PC), and have spent 638.5 hours in it just on Steam. That’s about $0.25/hour. Even arcade games aren’t that cheap anymore!

it astounds me that people don’t do this, really

It’s a fire and falling hazard having trees that close to the home. There are places here in California where you legally have to have a 100 foot wide firebreak around the building, like up around the foothills where wildfires are common.

@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

That’s why I’m a Dual sense fan. I’ve always preferred the symmetrical layout over the Xbox style. It’s even more difficult to play things like Katamari Damacy with the off-set sticks because unless you hold the controller awkwardly, you will naturally keep turning when you just want to go straight as the game controls like a remote control car.

The base game lures in newcomers by being the easiest one of the bunch; then the DLC kicks it up to Dark Souls 2+Ringed City difficulty and those newcomers are getting a taste of what the real game is and can’t handle it lol

I got into these games because of their difficulty. When DS1 came out, the trend was that most games would hold you hand and just give you free victories so you get your dopamine fix. The base game got a little boring because most of the bosses are just regular mobs at the end of a cave with a boss health bar. I actually like getting to the end of a small side dungeon and having a challenging fight and not just a copy of the random little dudes I’ve been one shotting as I walk to the boss room.

@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

My clothes only get wrinkly if I get them wet and then let them dry being all balled up so I never really ironed even though I grew up with it being a thing. The only thing I use an iron for and the only reason I even have one, is for applying those heat-activated designs and patches (though I usually tend to also sew the patches on because that heat glue often suuuuucks).

If this is before you get your Gate Key back: You gotta get through the caves by dropping down a bunch of holes; at that point in the game there’s only one path to progress. There are ways around MOST of the bao baos (those big gorilla guys), but you’re gonna have to fight a couple. They are the strongest things down there and also the only thing not weak to lightning magic. You may want to grind on Gato to get some more levels; especially if you have avoided most encounters.

Focus on the bao bao first. They take slightly more damage from magic than physical attacks. I like to have Robo here because he can dish out damage and do full party heals. Ayla and Crono are required here, but they also have an excellent duo tech that deals lighting and physical damage to everything in a wide area.

The boss at the end is a Triceratops and you’ll get your Gate Key back while being introduced to another boss you’ll fight a bit later.

Heck the first thing I ever posted to reddit that blew up was a walkthrough of the level shown in this meme:
