YouTube once again ahead of uBO on Firefox; fiddling with the extension settings not working this time and DDG search is useless ... anyone got ideas?

Pretty much the subject line. uBO has successfully blocked the nag screen enough times that I can’t play anything at this point. No preview loads, and the play button serves no function. I’d really prefer not to have to find content on YT, copy the URL and use Piped/Invidious, but this ongoing escalation is steeling my...

SNFi,

If you don’t like ads just do docs.invidious.io/instances/ … every YouTube link anyone sends me I just put it with an invidious instance and there are no ads neither bloated frontend.

SNFi,

Like if that was cheaper… xD

SNFi,

They didn’t say the price, the current prices of solar panels here are around 8,000 euros up to 12,000 euros.

SNFi,

My electricity company provider do the batteries “role”, they return me the energy I generated extra for free without charging the price, so I get back all what I generated when the sun is out. I think the issue is your government, greedy politics, here happened too, but it changed recently. That would make your inversion like half of what you paid for here.

SNFi,

I heard Mexico also allows returning the 100% extra energy you generated… I don’t know why, but I feel it’s just politics or greedy interests.

SNFi,

It’s funny this is on “Technology” topic and not just on “World news” or like that, like if this blog was related to tech… it’s like a clickbait deserved to be filtered, bad quality post from bbc.co.uk… not saying anything interesting unless “he’s on hospital”

SNFi,

Well, I don’t like MacBooks, they have many issues just to make it look cool… and super expensive.

SNFi,

He’s a tech icon.

Ah, I never heard about him, right now Apple makes pretty bad computers unless for their ARM CPUs that are more or less efficient, but that will end soon. They just messed up with arch CPUs, making things harder for developers.

this belongs here just fine

Nope, he is just one guy more working on tech, he’s just richer than his employees, that’s why he is here.

SNFi,

But that’s just marketing… I wouldn’t say “This guy was a legend”, he just did a company and paid employees. He could have good ideas, but many of Apple features are startups bought and stolen, like SIRI.

SNFi, (edited )

From the beginning? Why you don’t tell me exactly what am I wrong, instead to tell me to read everything from the first computer made? I might be wrong, so tell me.

EDIT: I mean, I feel like he just started with microprocessors, but that’s all. I can’t read anything else he did for us, and if he wouldn’t do it, any other would do it. And as I said, Apple was good when it started, but RIGHT NOW sucks in many ways. So he wasn’t that brilliant if he can’t even make Apple a good tech company. They are just marketing. Apple right now: redirect.invidious.io/watch?v=0PK9RzSl9O0&lis… maybe that’s why he’s on Hospital, after reading the Apple employees saying 8GB RAM on M3 is like 16GB on Windows/Linux.

He wanted to do something like www.crowdsupply.com/mnt/pocket-reform

But instead after he left apple he did: d2skn5554g4boz.cloudfront.net/…/3459024_1.jpg

SNFi,

I saw some YouTubers linking their Patreon on their channel info and video descriptions. As I don’t have a Google account and not going to start now, this is the only way I can support hem. If they are interested in getting money, they will just start making good content to get patrons instead of shit videos that make you addicted or hypnotized to keep watching them, I suppose, and would be more healthy too.

SNFi,

Is this technology or a game topic?..

SNFi,

Ah! I just configured yesterday my router to block all the Apple tracking requests (via DNS)… My Android don’t have Google, so they are technically wrong, there is no Apple OS with no tracking (as it is closed source).

EDIT: Also, we don’t need to listen them, we have proofs: www.scss.tcd.ie/doug.leith/apple_google.pdf 😼

SNFi,

I would like to include Elon Musk too, not physically dead but at least on news, dead on internet. He’s just doing stupid things.

SNFi,

He is losing much money, most of his money is his capital (business), not cash.

Twitter's lost 13% of its daily users and its rebrand has failed (www.bigtechnology.com)

The new data — comprehensive and definitive — should put to rest the countervailing narratives over Musk’s management of the app. Under his stewardship, X’s daily user base has declined from an estimated 140 million users to 121 million, with a widening gap between people who check the app daily vs. monthly. X’s...

SNFi,

Well, 13% of daily users is pretty much if 50% are trolls and bots. 🤣

SNFi,

You can subscribe to news or to Lemmy topics via RSS, you don’t need an account unless you want to reply/comment/post. RSS allows you to subscribe on topic you actually like or want and ignore other stuff. Not having an account can help to be more productive and spend less time talking with others. I have not even a Google account so I can’t neither like or comment on youtube videos or other places that needs an account and I’m totally okay. My only social accounts are this and a Mastodon user I don’t use anymore as RSS is actually how I want to get the news or people opinions/posts.

SNFi,

Because RSS works with an app that manages more RSS from others sites with different configurations you can set plus some filters you can do to that RSS list. So for me, the RSS app gives me more control on what I have read or not from not only Lemmy news (plus some filters I do, a pre-prosessing after fetching the RSS list using Javascript code). And you don’t even need a Lemmy account for that.

SNFi,

Isn’t he pretty broken right now? Twitter cost him a lot, and the money he has is mainly the capital he has (his companies).

SNFi,

Yeah, users that have bots already pays for it, now Elon Musk will need to pay their developers to avoid fake cards to be used by bots which will cost him much more money, and the result will be fewer users joining Twitter as not everyone puts their payment info that easily.

SNFi,

Yeah, sorry. I still need to improve my English! He got a big debt with banks to buy Twitter.

SNFi,

Thanks, very kind.
