Sam_Bass,

Worse than theyve been as is most every other massive conglomerate still in business since inception. As the adage goes, power corrupts. Absolutely immutable if the rest of the corporate world is any example

Sam_Bass,

Can count on one hand the number of times the xbox was even powered on. The ps4 gets more time but my pc is my main platform.

Sam_Bass,

If you have Steam on your pc, you have a steam machine. Plug it into your tv if you want a bigger screen experience

Sam_Bass,

Mass transit probaby has less overhead

Sam_Bass,

How many charging stations will be available? At what cost? And if they are fought against by cities fully invested in.mass transit, who covers the costs to clear that up?

Sam_Bass, (edited )

Fair enough. But all of that does require a significant investment, like you said, that will vary by location. Mass transit being already deployed has an advantage over new services like ebikes mainly due to build-out times and costs. Like any new tech, adoption is dependent on ease of access and use. Many users may find ebikes preferable if they can get to one easily and cheaply, but if the lifespan is cut short that ease is negated. There was a story a couple years ago about an ebike company that folded because there was insufficient usage. Cant remember which city it happened in but it likely soured that market for any future attempts.

Sam_Bass,

Xp to 7 was upgrade. 7 to 10 was clean

The few times i tried linux i used ubuntu. And each time a newer iteration was published a complete wipe and format was done for the new one

Is it impossible to be private online? (yewtu.be)

In sharing this video here I’m preaching to the choir, but I do think it indirectly raised a valuable point which probably doesn’t get spoken about enough in privacy communities. That is, in choosing to use even a single product or service that is more privacy-respecting than the equivalent big tech alternative, you are...

Sam_Bass,

Fraid so. The very act of connection lays you open to the world even if you have the latest greatest firewall and vpn

Sam_Bass,

The author could be the first to use a bike to haul furniture if he wanted to

Sam_Bass,

Cool. Because we here in the US are so ice-centric though, we default to that for moving heavy things

Sam_Bass,

No offense, but “flatpack” furniture isnt really

Sam_Bass,

Yeah you can haul all kinds of things with a trailer. You migjt even be able to get a couch from A to B without one if youre strong enough

Sam_Bass,

Then the christian faith and values are evil

Sam_Bass,

Pray tell whatre you gonna find your device with if you only have one device?

Sam_Bass,

The toll road scam: A government-made monopoly you pay for.

Here's a funny-because-it's-true take on Transurban and the poor tax it imposes, from Punter's Politics:

Sam_Bass,

If it looks like a tax, feels like a tax, and works like a tax…

Sam_Bass,

Even if you pay them, your privacy is gone. Any part of you placed in someone else’s hands makes privacy a joke

Sam_Bass,

Trumpism Is Emptying Churches: The former president’s embrace of White Christian militantism coincides with a precipitous decline in religious affiliation in the US (www.bloomberg.com)

Donald Trump, a 77-year-old Bible salesman from Palm Beach, Florida, has emerged as the nation’s most prominent Christian leader. Trump is running for president as a divinely chosen champion of White Christians, promising to sanctify their grievances, destroy their perceived enemies, bolster their social status, and grant them...
