Scrath,

I believe that is an Android 14 feature, not something exclusive to Pixel phones

Scrath,

I believe its missing h265 and av1 hardware support and while it probably has enough performance to handle those codecs in software, I wasn’t willing to drop more than 100 euros on a 5 year old device without hardware decoding for them

Scrath,

Ah, I guess I was only looking at AV1 support in that case. I only remembered it was missing something I wanted due to its age

Scrath,

I used KDEConnect in the past but ran into issues where somehow media sent to my phone wasn’t saved somehow. Probably some permission issue but I didn’t manage to fix it. Also the windows client only allows selection of one file at a time.

Recently I’ve tried out LocalSend and found it a much smoother experience.

Scrath,

This is what I use for youtube on my android tv. Works mostly great although I recently had some stuttering during playnack that I have yet to find the cause of

Scrath,

Huh, I wasn’t awars of that onedrive client.

Personally I use OnedriveGUI which is a frontend for the CLI based abraunegg client.

Your recommendation might be more mature since this one doesn’t support the file on demand stuff as far as I know

Scrath, (edited )

Oh definitely.

I still hate my old phone for locking ADB behind a Mi account registration and when I wanted to go into the theme settings some stupid marketplace app opened from which I could quit by hitting the back button to het to the actual android theme settings

Scrath,

I thought about doing that but if I remember correctly they wanted some information during account creation that I was not willing to share (it was probably my phone number).

Doesn’t matter anymore. My new phone is a pixel 7 on which I immediately installed GrapheneOS

Scrath,

How regularly do you use both of those devices?

I was eyeing the steam deck for its portability but I rarely would have reason to use it so I held off. Same for the switch.

When I’m at home I play on my desktop. When I’m not at home I’m mostly actively moving about or only waiting small periods of time which are not worth it to start gaming. The only reason I would have to really use them would be during vacations.

Scrath,

But don’t you want to open this website in our app so that we can better track you?

God I hate reddits mobile website, especially when you try to view an nsfw post

Scrath,

I know. That’s what I always do but navigating a desktop site on mobile is horrible :(

Scrath,

I believe teamspeak 4 is more similar to discord than ts3. No idea if it supports screen sharing though

Scrath,

I saw some skull and bones vs ac black flag comparison videos and am now getting mildly interested in the game as well

Scrath,

Works great on my linux laptop. It’s also available for windows but lacks some sruff there unfortunately. For example you can only send one file at a time and many media players in windows are not recognized and yherefore cannot be controlled from the phone.

I know this is the linux community. Just wanted to mention these things for people like me who also have a windows machine for gaming

Scrath,

It’s not foss unfortunately and the license prohibits its free usage in a company

Scrath,

The only ubisoft game I still care about is Anno 1800
