I believe its missing h265 and av1 hardware support and while it probably has enough performance to handle those codecs in software, I wasn’t willing to drop more than 100 euros on a 5 year old device without hardware decoding for them
I’m running OpenSUSE leap 15.5, When I was on the linux mint, I was using warpinator but using it on openSUSE is troublesome and I wish there was a linux version of blip but unfortunately there is not.
I used KDEConnect in the past but ran into issues where somehow media sent to my phone wasn’t saved somehow. Probably some permission issue but I didn’t manage to fix it. Also the windows client only allows selection of one file at a time.
Recently I’ve tried out LocalSend and found it a much smoother experience.
This is what I use for youtube on my android tv. Works mostly great although I recently had some stuttering during playnack that I have yet to find the cause of
I still hate my old phone for locking ADB behind a Mi account registration and when I wanted to go into the theme settings some stupid marketplace app opened from which I could quit by hitting the back button to het to the actual android theme settings
I thought about doing that but if I remember correctly they wanted some information during account creation that I was not willing to share (it was probably my phone number).

This is my first Nintendo system since the NES. I’ve never been a big fan of their first-party properties when I’ve played on others’ consoles, although I am interested in the Switch Zelda games....
I was eyeing the steam deck for its portability but I rarely would have reason to use it so I held off. Same for the switch.
When I’m at home I play on my desktop. When I’m not at home I’m mostly actively moving about or only waiting small periods of time which are not worth it to start gaming. The only reason I would have to really use them would be during vacations.
Works great on my linux laptop. It’s also available for windows but lacks some sruff there unfortunately. For example you can only send one file at a time and many media players in windows are not recognized and yherefore cannot be controlled from the phone.
I know this is the linux community. Just wanted to mention these things for people like me who also have a windows machine for gaming
