DrugFraud, the scummiest skin bag ever, who Ontario has managed to elect twice as premier.

Maybe by next election Ontario will have learned its lesson.

There are some in the article …

Number of people using Ontario food banks rose nearly 40% last year: report

A single person on ODSP gets $1,308 a month for basic needs and shelter, or under $16,000 a year. A single person on OW receives $733 a month, amounting to less than $9,000 annually.

The Ontario Living Wage Network calculates the living wage in Thunder Bay at $19.80 an hour. For a person working 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year, that would equate to an annual income of just below $40,000, not including tax deductions.

Because Druggie shut it down after a year (after promising to keep it)… well before any stats could be accumulated.

Good. I hope that contractor faces some sort of fine and/or charges.

The contractor is the one who lied. It’s all on him.

I feel like this is an important thing.

Top global firms, such as Ernst & Young and KPMG, did not flag concerns about the bank in their audits, public documents show.

If proven beyond a doubt, I agree. But the communist leadership has been fairly lax on enforcement … until now that is. One has to wonder why all of a sudden they’ve decided to do something?

No. That would be you instead.

Canadian farmers are going to have a rough, drought-filled year.

Alberta is already looking at rationing water resources.

Yeah. Always happens. :/

BC’s NDP should change their name to the New Conservative Party because they seem to prioritize profit over everything else.

Those same people will be very upset when we start having regular, yearly droughts because we don’t get enough snowfall anymore.

Last week, Canada’s federal fisheries department announced all commercial and recreational bottom-contact fisheries, including mid-water trawl, could no longer fish in the area surrounding the reef.

I’m glad the gov’t banned dragnet fishing in the fiord.

And I’m incredibly impressed that scientists are finally listening to and respecting Indigenous voices.

I have just come in the house from watching flocks of Canada geese migrating north for summer … and it’s March 14 ffs!! Even a raven on a light pole squawked at the geese and seemed upset by the whole thing.

Bears, bees, mosquitoes, squirrels are waking up already.

Gonna be a hot year again. :(

“The novelty and sophistication of the technology makes it hard to track who is behind AI deepfakes. Experts say governments and companies are not yet capable of stopping the deluge, nor are they moving fast enough to solve the problem.”

And that’s the problem. When AI was first announced gov’ts should have put a few rules in place to safeguard citizens while gov’ts delved deeper. Instead, as always, they ignored the possible issues and let capitalism reign.

girlfreddy,
@girlfreddy@lemmy.ca avatar

When was AI first announced?

In 2016, by Google.

What kind of rules could the government have put in place to effectively prevent people outside their jurisdiction from using freely available technology on their own computers?

That before the public had access to AI, the gov’t would gather unbiased experts together to disseminate what effects AI could/would have on politics, education, fake news, journalism, etc.

It’s not hard for the gov’t to do their jobs. We just have to hold them to account.
