nondescripthandle, to world in Heads of churches say Israeli government is demanding they pay property tax, upsetting status quo

Yes all places of worship should be taxed, but starting with only the minority organization is quite literally just a form of religious supremecy. Shocking from Israel I know.

nondescripthandle, to world in Netanyahu backtracks, says he remains committed to US-endorsed ceasefire deal in Gaza

Of course he does. Buisness as usual for him is going to include more setteler violence and intrusions on the West Bank coupled with mass arrests of Palestinians with no recourse. Unless the ceasfire includeds statehood theres almost no way Netanyahu doesn’t get the better deal out of ceasefire.

nondescripthandle, to world in ‘They miscalculated’: Gaza’s floating aid pier failing to deliver in rough seas

“They didn’t fully understand what was going to happen with the weather … So the DoD [Department of Defence] walks away, humiliated in a fashion.”

I’m sorry but do they expect me to believe the worlds deadliest and most expensive military failed to account for the weather instead of believing they deploed an intentionally half assed solution for victims of their closest ally to appease public opinion?

nondescripthandle, to politics in The new anti-Israel right’s failure to launch

Not so shocking. The right is only good at organizing when they’ve got huge bankrolls behind them, there’s really little else special with their organizing methods. Like how the Kochs funded the tea party. Almost all monied interests in the US support Israel and make good money from it, so theres no puppet master, just puppets.

nondescripthandle, to world in Spanish police arrest 10 after discovery of ‘highly sophisticated’ meth lab

Guiterre Blanco, a su servicio.

nondescripthandle, to world in Bank of America tells Detroit’s Big 3 they can’t make money in China and should just leave the hypercompetitive car market ‘as soon as they possibly can’

Yeah Detroit is literally the reason for THE ENTIRE COUNTRIES lack of good public transportation. The big three have and will continue to conspire deeply with the US government. Especially as that’s become commonplace among just about every corp rich enough these days.

nondescripthandle, to politics in Gavin Newsom wants to change the US constitution to stop gun violence – will he succeed?

Correct, and im no fan of the cops in general but my point mainly focuses on how so many perpetrators of these kinds of crime tend to make themselves known ahead of time so it really looks like we had enough information, and in a lot of cases we even have the law’s jurisdiction too, but still failed to take the action required. If the laws that are already there arent being enforced I struggle to think we can just keep adding laws assuming those will be enforced.

nondescripthandle, to world in Woman gets fine for owing maid 3 years’ salary in ‘safekeeping’ arrangement - TODAY

Ehh that experiment had it’s own flaws but it certainly produced some interesting results worth seeing.

nondescripthandle, to politics in Gavin Newsom wants to change the US constitution to stop gun violence – will he succeed?

The laws as they are now prevent just about every school child from buying a rifle of any kind. The cops simply hate enforcing gun laws against people they feel are just like them. How many shootings now have you read something like ‘The alleged shooter was known to police’ or someone had already complained or asked for wellness checks?

nondescripthandle, to politics in Modern-day outlaws, ‘sovereign citizens’ threaten the rule of law

Yeah I wouldn’t say they threaten the law. The supreme court threatens the law. Sov cits just brake the law while convincing themselves its not illegal if they do it while weaking polka dots or something.

nondescripthandle, to world in China's Xi accused the US of trying to trick him into invading Taiwan, but said he won't take the bait, report says

My thoughts exactly. Probably tougher than HK but similar playbook, my guess is a slow long term approach would be the most likely to succeed.

nondescripthandle, to world in China's Xi accused the US of trying to trick him into invading Taiwan, but said he won't take the bait, report says

I don’t think he believes what he says for the reasons hes claiming. I think if he’s really set on not invading it’s because hes seen how poorly its working for Russia. China wants Taiwans economy, you cant get that if Taiwan looks like Ukraine before you even get control.

If Xi is being serious it’s probably because he’s realizing he needs to take Taiwan through economic and diplomatic, and probably clandestine diplomatic means. Weather he has a plan for that remains to be seen.

nondescripthandle, to politics in Misleading GOP videos of Biden are going viral. The fact checks have trouble keeping up.

Fact checkers aren’t meant to keep up. If politicians empowered them enough or gave them resources none of the politicians would survive.

nondescripthandle, to politics in United States: Expanded Child Tax Credit improved Parents' Mental Health

To me this reads like most parents in the US make so little or are working so much that more money can increase their health and wellbeing. Wierd how the economy is designed to keep you in an unhealthy place /s
