What does forgery with permission look like?

yote_zip,
@yote_zip@pawb.social avatar

It actually happens a decent amount, e.g. your boss is required to sign in each shipment, but they’re lazy so they tell you to handle the shipments and sign for them.

This is my life every time I try to talk about the ADHD I’ve struggled with since childhood. “Oh everyone has that issue!” Well then maybe “everyone” has ADHD to some degree? I don’t have a fuckin monopoly on it.

Kon-Peki is such a pretty blue. When I saw you wrote its name in Kanji, I asked myself excitedly if this person knows how to write. Then I saw the rest of your page :)

Are you self studying or taking a class?

rson,

Yeah I’ve always wanted to try the Iroshizuku inks because the bottle is so pretty and they look nice but buying whole jars of ink is intimidating for me lol. Glad I finally bit the bullet because it’s prob already my fav blue.

And I’m just self studying atm. I’m going to Japan later this year and I wanted to (hopefully) be able to speak some Japanese outside of just ありがとうございます and like すみません lol. I don’t expect to be fluent or anything, but if nothing else maybe be able to decipher some signs based off the katakana or familiar kanji.

UnfortunateTwist,

I had an 18 hour layover in Taiwan years ago, which encouraged me to learn Mandarin. Same boat as you, not enough to be anywhere close to fluent, but at least not a complete stranger to the language and culture. I find it fun to write.

that looks really awesome😁 I’ll guess I have to put it on my wish list then😅 what nib size did you get?

rson,

It’s a fine nib! It’s not reaaallly as fine as I’d prefer (I’m weird and kinda like scratchy pens lol) but it’s still good!

BZen, to fountainpens in NPD/NID TWSBI 700VAC R and Iroshizuki Kon-Peki

Congrats! I’ve just finished journal writing with my 700VAC R and Iroshizuki ink! It’s my favorite travel pen, both because of the large ink capacity and significantly decreased chance of leakage during flights.

rson,

good to know, I’ve brought my TWSBI Eco with me on flights before and def forgot that the ink gets blasted into the cap.

BZen,

During my last flight, I didn’t even keep the nib upright, and still didn’t have problems. I had multiple vacuum fill pens with me, including the VAC Mini and Pilot Custom 823, and none of them leaked.

I like Iroshizuku ink a lot. I have a bottle of Shinkai ("Deep Sea") that's a nice blue-gray (more gray than blue, though).

Where is this comic from?

This is actually more the style of jinn and efreet bottled by Solomon. The three wishes stuff was more common with fairy magic (and spoiler, the wish maker would foul it up and get stuck with the consequences.)

With a djinn, it was more yeah, I’ll do magic stuff for you until I get bored, and if you’re very lucky, and don’t piss me off too much, I just might let you live.

Think of a mafia don who owes you a favor and doesn’t like the obligation hovering over him. And yet, if you ask for too much, he may just disappear you instead.

You know what’s hyper fucked?

Back when I was a baby republican (read: a parentally brainwashed child) and just learning about gerrymandering in school, my reaction was basically “well that’s shitty, but at least it’s the people I like doing it”.

I’m pretty sure that’s very common thinking amongst hardened republicans. I don’t even know how you convince someone to not be like that either, I just changed when I was out from under my parents boot and finally allowed to learn about the political effects of racism.

Tldr; common think pattern leads me to believe Texas is fucked until reepublicans lose their power there.

Pumpkinbot, to retrogaming in GBC Aquired, Time to Mod

Hell yeah! The cheapest thing you could do while waiting for parts, I think, is clean it up, like removing and de-gunking that sticker.

BitterSweet,

Alright, just a cotton swab with alcohol should be plenty

Pumpkinbot,

Oh, and definitely make sure the battery contacts aren’t corroded/had leaky batteries, though if you’re gonna swap it for a rechargeable one, it may not matter?

BitterSweet,

Battery upgrade is definitely on the table probably a usb-c. it was verified working though from the shop. Unsure where to get the kits though and what a reasonable price is for a kit.

Vent, to retrogaming in GBC Aquired, Time to Mod

$80??? 🫠

I’m not in the retrogaming scene, is that normal for a GBC?

BitterSweet,

About average, I mainly wanted to purchase from a local shop though to support business. It’s a common date night spot for my gf an I bc they have a small collection of cabinets and pinball machines to play at the shop too.

QuarterlySushi,
@QuarterlySushi@kbin.social avatar

Unfortunately it is! It’s become an expensive scene.

Muddobbers,

I got one cheaper on eBay, but it was broken “for parts” that I knew how to fix it cheaply, so really just how much you really, really want one

Ghoti_,

$80 is definitely a high price. If you buy a GBC from eBay or Craigslists etc on any given day I’d expect to pay around $80.

However, if you’re monitoring market places like Facebook or Reddit, you’ll come across them for like $30-40 by people who just want to get rid of them. It might take a few days of waiting to come across one but it happens regularly you just have to be quick and have multiple payment options ready.

I’ve bought a few GB-GBAs recently and I’ve never paid more than $45 for one. I probably average $30 or $35 because I buy multiples.

I would do the screen first, it will improve the gameplay experience a ton.

BitterSweet,

Alright, where would I buy a kit from todo so? I’ve been looking here: retrogamerepairshop unsure if this is priced well or not or even where to look.

HRYDJPCHNMNDGBLTFIYA,

I bought my GBA screen from https://funnyplaying.com/, they also have an AliExpress store

GreenMario, to retrogaming in GBC Aquired, Time to Mod

Grab a Flash Cart so you don’t have to pay outrageous used game prices, and find some kind of high capacity battery mod because I use a flash cart on my GBA and it drains quick even with replacement battery.

BitterSweet, (edited )

Omfg thank you! I was hesitant to buy anymore games bc of the price, any brand in particular I should go for?

edit: how tf do I figure out what cart to get

mesamunefire,
mesamunefire,
GreenMario,

Everdrive fo sho.

I got the EZ Flash for GBA which works fine, was cheaper. Idk if there’s a GBC variant but worth a look.
