The fact that merely acknowledging that LGBTQ+ people exist and are worthy of basic human dignity and respect is considered a “political opinion” is exactly the problem.
I’d recommend learning some of this guy’s and the LP’s highlights: you will NOT ever convince a trumpanzee to vote for anyone on the blue team, but they’re a lot more receptive to the libertarian pipe dream.
I’ve managed to direct a few votes away from Trump by singing the LP’s praises tactically to co-workers who were otherwise hopelessly right wing.
The spoiler effect is a best case scenario in that situation.
After elder ring winning goty I stopped listening to these awards. Elden ring is trash, and if that what passes for game of the year, fuck that award and any other like it.
A lot of repetition, empty, hollow, ugly world, Sub par graphics, Punishing gameplay (I’m not a fan of spending an hour dying over and over) After like 20 hours of playing I have no idea what the story was or what the game is about.
I reached a point where I just got sick of grinding with no idea why, and to explore more of a world that was utterly uninteresting
Note: it’s the first game I’ve played from the souls series, cause I had no idea it was until I was playing it

I didn’t buy it. I borrowed it. Also when a game is given Game of the Year, accessibility should be high up on the list. If it’s a niche genre that won’t appeal to most and I have to inform myself about before diving it, then it doesn’t deserve game of the year.

Pretty much everyone loved the game? Really? Google “Elden ring is bad” or anything along those lines, it is filled with thousands of threads from different sites where people agree with me about how trash the game is. It’s gotta be the most divisive game of the year I’ve ever seen.
Bigots are incapable of thinking this way. They only see LGBT+ people as “the other” and themselves as “normal”, so they never realize that they themselves at one point figured out their own identity (including both gender and sexuality). They think it’s only LGBT+ folks having to figure those things out.
It’s bizarre, especially since society does push cisgendered and heterosexual norms at a very early age. Young boys will get asked if they like any girls and they’ll constantly be pushed with gender roles and stereotypes for their birth gender. It’s so normalized that most folks don’t even seem to realize that it happens until confronted with the existence of any alternative (like LGBT+ folks). A reasonable person would examine their biases and realize stuff like “huh, I guess I knew my gender from a young age”, but bigots have this irrational hatred for LGBT+ people so they’re not willing or capable of this kind of insight. Their brain has to twist logic into justifying the bigotry that they’ve already concluded on.
