For context, this was indeed a response on Snap, where they do not allow you to install deb files under the latest Ubuntu 24.04. Unless you use the command line, which of course I understand. Just run: apt install <deb>. However, my point is that an average Ubuntu user is now unable to easily install Deb files under Ubuntu, which is insane. Especially, because Ubuntu is build on top of Debian.
Are these guys particularly popular? I know nothing of Irish rap/hiphop but I came across this years ago and loved it. I’ve always wondered just how big they are over there.
I spent a lot of time in the boywife kitchen, but the abortion pantry just has snacks. I guess we sleep in the Sex Before Marriage Lounge? I’d swap the Gay Room and the Estrogen Lab. I surf Lemmy and do more science in the Gay Room, and my sweetheart hangs out in the Estrogen Lab.
The bathroom is trans, yes. There’s a second (cis) bathroom.
Yeah… adding other patterns misses the point. It’s a rainbow. It’s a spectrum that covers everyone. It’s not like one group owns a given stripe. As soon as a broad symbol becomes a collection of specifics, you wind up asking ‘why this group, but not that group?,’ and it’s a whole thing.
You want a flag that explicitly supports trans people? We had that. It’s… the trans flag. And also the rainbow flag, because y’all were already covered. You’re even in the acronym.
TIL Hyperborean comes from Greek mythology and were people who lived in the far northern parts of the known world. It became known to signify remote and exotic locations.
I’ve only ever heard it used in pulpy adventure stories/games like Howard’s Conan world (which do admittedly have some if that implicit racism common to fiction from that time). Has it become more explicitly neo-Nazi?
It’s common enough that tik tok banned the hyperborea hashtag and you can find a couple 4chan threads about it at any time.
I think actually believing in it is pretty fringe even among neo nazis though. It usually involves magic and aliens. It sometimes ties into flat earth and similar nonsense.
