I tend to adopt the view that my words aren’t just distracting sounds that come from a hole in my face and try to extend the trust and courtesy to others.
I don’t think it’s generally very nice to say things we don’t mean to wind people up. you can just say “I think you’re being a wanker, pull your head in” instead of whatever this is.
I’m a female-passing (afab agender but that’s beside the point) physicist. I do this when men (honest to god it’s always been men so far) explain something to me that i obviously know better. Like for example they’ll know I’m a physicist but explain to me that water boils at a lower temperature in the mountains or something like that. I’ll just play a game to see just how dumb i can get them to think i am. Pretty dumb is usually the answer.
Wow, so yeah, you obviously enrage people when you say something ridiculously dumb and behave like you know it better. That’s just called being an asshole.
Well, seems like someone felt the need to compulsively correct a another’s statement and establish their authority on the subject. They should really warn people about this…
