Midnitte,

Would be more useful if you could change the keybind.

Hell, even if you could change it to Copilot. Copilot can be bad, but I don’t expect Logitech to have the resources to make a better AI than Microsoft…

Midnitte,

Cut a small cutout of the head’s “o” and fit each head in between butt slots.

Midnitte,

I’m sure he’ll probably use a different mechanic for Haunted Chocolatier, probably too late to change it for Stardew Vallery, given it’s age and the existing complexity of the game.

Midnitte,

Ironic, given that Trump dodged the draft with totally not made-up bone spurs.

Midnitte,

Good read, and I definitely recommend the game.

Also didn’t expect references to Superstorm Sandy or Christie.

For my money, the Christie administration’s Beachgate scandal remains the most ludicrously individualized version of this in microcosm

Especially when you consider he was the reason the state government shutdown, and then that asshole lied about being on the beach, and when caught said “hey if you want to go to the beach, you could run for governor”. You know how many families got fucked out of an enjoyable beach visit for July 4th?

Midnitte,

Good luck banning things from the internet for very long

Midnitte,

Nice of them to include a striker for the butane torch

I didn't know where else to ask rule (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

How do you shave your balls? Every time I’ve tried with my trimmer it pinches and tears my sack and I’m too traumatized to try it again unless there’s a full proof bloodless method. Usually I just pluck as many as I can tolerate while I’m sitting around watching YouTube or somethin. But it’s such a pain (literally)....

Midnitte,

There’s just something great about a corporation having a guide on their website with the word balls.

Midnitte,

It’s now been eight months since SAG-AFTRA members voted in favour of a strike authorisation in the games industry… While SAG-AFTRA has not moved forward with its strike as of yet…

I wonder if there’s a limit to how long the authorization is valid for?

Midnitte,

So it never expires?

Ik really surprised they haven’t actually called a strike given how long it’s been.

Midnitte,

I’m not sure, but he has some very… bad views on pedophile.

Like… dude, why are you discussing this so much?

Midnitte,

At a certain point, once you consistently take something, you own that something.

Midnitte,

Could be worse, could be banned from the hot dog eating contest /s

You can do it!

Midnitte,

I can just imagine the twisted version of Robbie (pdf warning) this might produce coming from Musk.

Midnitte,

I assume OpenAI sort of demonstrates the fragility of that arrangement…

  • Midnitte,

On the flipside, you’re also punishing working people who typically are paid crummily

The national minimum wage for tipped workers is $2.13/hour but, by law, restaurants must pay servers an hourly wage of at least $7.25/hour. That means if you don’t earn enough tips to average $7.25/hour during a pay period, the restaurant must increase your hourly wage accordingly. - Source

We shouldn’t have to subsidize their crummy wages, but that’s a political change we have to push for - not giving someone a tip now hurts them now.

On the other other flipside, businesses have been trying to be scummy with tips.

    DoorFash stealing tips

    Tipping for self checkout

My mantra is push for living wages where people don’t need tips, and tip people in person, not a machine.

    Midnitte,

    “Your OneDrive is now full…”

Thanks, Microsoft, how about you use my 1TB SSD instead.

How is everyone handling the 2FA requirement for GitHub? (docs.github.com)

Just wondering what people are using to meet the 2FA requirement GitHub has been rolling out. I don’t love the idea of having an authenticator app installed on my phone just to log into GitHub. And really don’t want to give them my phone number just to log in....

    Midnitte,

Worth the price for Bitwarden’s good practices imo, now if I could export all of my authy keys…

I know it’s possible, but Authy has made it a PITA… fuck authy.

    Midnitte,

Not if more people use FireFox…

Firefox also supports mobile extensions, unlike Chrome.

    Midnitte,

They’re completely unhinged and detached from reality, the rule of law, and democracy.

    Midnitte,

They only cared that he hurt “the right people”.

    Midnitte,

Also applies to Half-Life 2 speedruns.

    Midnitte,

Valve also has no incentive - it’s basically a free money machine.

    Midnitte,

Yea is there a link so we can know what url to avoid?

    Midnitte,

I’ve never heard of it, did it serve as inspiration for Natural Selection?

    Midnitte,

My understanding is the herpes virus DNA is integrated into our own.

I’m not sure about the technique here (I’m sure part of the process puts it back together), but I just wanted to denote that this is how all retroviruses work - they infect a cell and incorporate themselves into the DNA, which is then replicated by normal cell processes.

Our DNA is littered with the corpses of many such remnants, and if we can figure out how to stop Herpes, it would be a path to also stopping HIV.

    Midnitte,

Not sure how you’d be able to search for open issues to ensure you wouldn’t be posting a duplicate, but the Github CLI has a way to open issues.

    Midnitte,

There’s a story that urban engineers in… Sweden(?) look at the ground after fresh snow to judge where to install walking pavement

    Midnitte,

    Recursion…

Some say the programmer that took this photo is still circling the sign to this day, or whenever he experiences a buffer overflow.

    Midnitte,

Certainly explains some of RFK Jr’s beliefs…

    Midnitte,

The alternative is to move to NJ and drive a car 1 hour to work, that way, you never see the sun directly.

    Midnitte,

…messages that included “I dream of breaking the siege,” “Come together in peace” and the number of Palestinian children killed in Gaza since war between Israel and Hamas broke out in October.

…the administration said the messaging was “threatening, intimidating and antisemitic,” according to an email from Eric Kaler, Case’s president.

Right… tell me again how afraid you are at looking at reality?

    Midnitte,

    Oh, well that’s interesting.

    Midnitte,

    broader cost cutting

They’re just stripping everything down to save money, as every company that ever buys another company does.

This was entirely predictable (plus, they purchase IP, not people).

    Midnitte,

Agreed, but it certainly seems to be.

Can somebody explain why game makers don't start their own companies together?

It seems like every other week a game studio is massively laying off employees; sometimes after years of development. What I’m reading is that it’s a quick way to lower expenses and pad the investors’ pockets, flooding the market with developers and reducing their value, to then hire them back a few months later at lower...

    Midnitte,

Probably because the owners want to take all of the profit and employees do not have the capital to make the investment.

It takes a certain benevolent capitalist to convert their business to employee owned (Bobs Red Mill intensifies). Such businesses only represent 12% of the private sector

    Midnitte,

(Also as a side note, I find it wild how much Microsoft spent on Bethesda just to cut so many of those studios.)

It’s easy to understand when you realize that purchase wasn’t about talent, it was about IP.

Now sure, closing these studios and preventing the development of new exclusives is leading to Sony eating their lunch now, but longer/very short term it leads to them developing exclusives with their IP at a cheaper cost. It’s just all about cost cutting to make pretty line go up.
