Honestly I respect the Hermione comment. Obviously Hermione was written as white, like duh. She was expressing her support for a black-casted hermione because her race is unimportant. It was just a cheeky way of supporting the casting choice amid the backlash from racist fans.

The Dumbledore being gay thing is… idk. I think it makes sense that he can be gay but JK should have been explicit and not canonized his queerness after the fact for clout.

They probably noticed a huge bump in numbers in the episodes where they shit on Elon. There’s a weird dynamic where toxic shit partially maintains it’s popularity because content that focuses on debunking it gets eaten up. So ‘sane’ creators have to decide between creating interesting things or repeatedly dunking on some toxic shit that it grows their platform.

That subreddit was simultaneously the funniest and creepiest subreddit I’ve ever visited. It’s hilarious how sure they are that they will all be billionaires but I always got the creeps when thinking about how I was reading the comments from a bunch of people just throwing their life savings down the toilet.

The world building was solid enough to distract me from the writing for a long time. This probably sounds like a nitpick but here goes.

The part where the scientists are explaining GAIA (whatever its called) was so badly done I lost all suspension of disbelief. Like why did these people spend, presumably hours of their precious time, creating an Apple style keynote speech explaining their plan to save the world. Like maybe just focus on saving the world? And one of them has a valley accent. No disrespect to valley accents but if you’re trying to convince me I’m listening to one of the smartest people in the world it’s definitely a bad choice to give them an accent attributed to ignorant white girls.

As others said, not Paul. It’s weird as fuck, completely surreal. But it’s the most amazing book I’ve ever read. The transformation is considered weird as fuck by the characters in the book too, but it allows Frank to explore some truly unique and interesting ideas.

I don’t think I will ever again have a literary experience as satisfying as reading that book.

This took me way too long to understand.

Same thing with motion sensor sinks. There are way too many that don’t work for people with darker skin because they were only ever tested on white people.

Epitomizes white privilege for me. The white male is considered default and as a result we enjoy benefits on the daily without even realizing it. The book Invisible women does a great job pointing out many ways in which the “male default bias” (idk if thats the correct terminology) negatively effects women. Some of these are ‘trivial’, like how women’s bathrooms can serve fewer people at a time because stalls are less space efficient than urinals. So instead of giving womens bathrooms more space we just laugh at how womens bathrooms always have long lines. Many are obviously not so trivial.

Fucking surf man. I have so much nostalgia for CSS it’s unreal. Surf, rat, sncoutknives, deathrun, jail, 24/7 single map 32 player frag fest servers. One of the most underrated GOAT games imo. I know the competitive community shunned it but as a 13 yo kid that game shaped me into a PC gamer for life.

Thank you for edit OP. I was wondering if this would be a good solution to trying to play 3 mins of Dark Souls while waiting for my rocket league teammates to join up. If I run two games at once my PC usually freaks the fuck out.

I’m on my second attempt at playing Dark Souls 1 on PC. I know it’s a meme but holy moly does this game not give a fuck about you. Lately I’ve been trying to play games on harder difficulties and avoid guides in order to be forced to utilize every mechanic, but Dark Souls is breaking me.

The lack of direction the player is given and unforgiving gameplay is too much for me though. I’ve resorted to looking up tips on combat, builds, and items, and how to progress now and again.

Overall though it’s a lot of fun. The enemies are so well designed and every time I see a miniboss waiting for me in the distance my butt clenches, which is a very fun experience that not many games are able to deliver.

I still think there are aspects of the game that are needlessly frustrating. Some enemies seem like a cruel joke, mainly the freaking ghosts that move and attack through walls. Also I wish there was more direction, NPCs I could talk to or something that would give me ideas on where I should be going. Wandering around and dying repeatedly is only fun for so long imo.

I’m glad a game like this exists for people who are not whiny wusses like me though.

Every time I try to role play as an evil protagonist I start feeling bad for NPCs or get fomo about rewards I’ll be missing. Not sure if I’ve gone full evil since Fable 1.

I’m waiting for the DLC. Kinda scared, though. When I last played I was jobless, depressed, living at home and would play for ~10 hours a day.

The upcoming DLC has improvements for bots. Can’t remember the details but one of the FFF explains it. Might solve some of your problems.

You can always just start a new base next to your old base and divert resources to the new one. Eventually you can just delete the old base.
