Thats okay FromSoft, you go when you feel like it. I will instantly pick ER back up.

Another Patient Recommendation: Saints Row IV (lemm.ee)

I want to make a case for Saints Row IV: it is my go-to relaxing game. I have it installed on my PS4. The game has a GTA-esque setting and gameplay style, but where GTA is a clever satire of the real world, SR IV doesn’t concern itself with the limits of reality: in fact, You play as the President of the US (with super-powers)...

And that ending, Holdin’ Out For A Hero is blasting as you make the gravest of decisions. Loved it through and through. Perfectly not-serious.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, Godzilla is best when he is the problem.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Are you saying Paul Bunyan is not a beast? And a strangely large one at that?

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Just 30 more hours of rendering and we’ll have our teapot.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Okay but At The Mountains of Madness, The Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath, The King In Yellow, Color Out of Space, that one with the witch and the human-faced rat, all quite good.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Thank you, I have his collection. I think its been like 10 years since I have read any of those. I should go back.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I didnt want to mention August Derleth, and all those crazy chains of letters involved in the origin of the Lovecraftian Mythos. The King In Yellow is in the Dreamquest of Unknown Kaddath, if only briefly.

Someone just got hired at my work and they organize their apps by color. I started disassociating.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

My apps are in an alphabetical list.

Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten

Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

“Ronald Reagan has won the Presidential Election” was pretty terrifying.

Maybe your mental faculties will ketchup this year

This is the song that mever ends, yes it goes on and on my friends…

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

My dad just sang it to me like that. So its probably his bad lol

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

How does Minetest compare to Minecraft? I’m addicted to the Project Ozone 3 mod on minecraft.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Which doesnt matter in the States and Texans dont speak like that. Russian troll all the way.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

V1 is missing stuff from V2 and if its like the Dreamcast version you lose all your equipped items on death. I love POS2. If you have access to any computer there are free PSO2: Blue Burst servers you can play. I’d look into it before purchasing because all the versions are different. Blue Burst contains everything the previous versions do plus a new Olga Flow boss fight at the end of episode 2.

I’ll take it but I’m way more hairy in just a bra than this las is.

Here’s a video of Doom running on gut bacteria, proving you really can play the game on anything (www.engadget.com)

An MIT biotech researcher has been able to run the iconic computer game Doom using actual gut bacteria. Lauren Ramlan didn’t get the game going on a digital simulation of bacteria, but turned actual bacteria into pixels to display the 30-year-old FPS, as reported by Rock Paper Shotgun....

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

The title is misleading and the article even points it out. She is displaying Doom (which is still cool and kinda fucking crazy) on bacteria. It is not being processed by the bacteria.

Man dies after eating chicken tenders! Woman loses her child to cat litter! Elderly man foreskin amputated after drinking monster!

A clickbait title consists of two nouns and a verb. The first noun and verb are the subject and context of what happened. The third noun is to draw a connect and get you to ask “What/Why?” It iffers no true insight and exists purely to get you to click. These match that criteria.

Announcellation: Entertainment Media Is Losing Its Mind (The Jimquisition) (youtu.be)

A little opinion piece about the enshitification of the gaming and entertainment industry as Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE!, a mobile, GaaS, launches globally in February, but service will only remain online for three months before it shuts down....

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

The link is 404ing for me. Either way thats scummy. The only project that was cool like this was the game where you could only die once and then you were out forever.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I meant the patreon link. It has Love concatenated on the end.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Should have used a FLAC instead of a WAV. Its lossless.

Corporate control rises, and piracy to meet it.

Good luck enforcing non-ownership on people who post classified government docs to prove their digital war vehicles are accurate or not. It may overlap, but this is not the same audience.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Can’t you feel it? The threads of global tension snapping with a deafening blast? The ravenous chantings of Mars cutting through the ambient noise?

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

When I’m 2 beers deep and the top asks me if I’m feeling okay.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

This us why we shoukd be making AI that is biased against the wealthy

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Sorry I picked you at random to reply to. Revisiting this comment with a sober mind, I have no idea what I was talking about. Maybe create a bot that identifies the top 400 riches people in the world and spends its existance phishing and scamming them at a rate no human can do? The idea sat better when I couldn’t think it through.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

A lot of us just want to have some fun after work and it is not fun when you feel served up like a buttered hot meal. I don’t want to feel like my games are consuming me.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Finite people, wasting finite time, on abstract concepts. “Don’t you think of us when you read the letter ‘R’?” No, I think of a Rhinoceros.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

That bass riff in Crash 3’s hub menu lives rent free in my conciousness 24/7

Video game actors speak out after union announces AI voice deal (www.videogameschronicle.com)

According to SAG AFTRA, the deal will “enable Replica to engage SAG-AFTRA members under a fair, ethical agreement to safely create and license a digital replica of their voice. Licensed voices can be used in video game development and other interactive media projects from pre-production to final release.”...

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I think it would be better for all involved if we figure this out now. Existing Voice Actors should not have their performances used without their explicit consent. Any performances used by current or past voice actors must have explicit consent and compensation. “New” voices generates by AI must be sufficiently differing from existing performances and any existing performances used in the generation must have consent by the original voice actor.

Guarantee none of them have experienced being on your 10th take in the booth, with the previous line fed to you by the Audio Engineer through your cans, and the next line is whatever comes next alphabetically. Its just as valid as any other form of acting. People on a high horse because of their job is the most asinine shit. Its all work.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Thats a solid and necessary addition. This comment section alone has already done more than any regulators. Its like they’re afraid to at least lay down protective ground rules so VAs can continue to eat. Too much profit salivation.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

It seems like now would be a good time for Crash Bash to be revived. Or anything Crash Bandicoot. Does ND still have the license for Crash? I’m drawing a blank.

Edit: they don’t. RIP. I’m unsure how that works after looking it up with all those studios.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

That would be a good one. If it was like 2 or 3.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Is it just going to stay common knowledge that all the productions of man are put on for the invisible wallets of shareholders and nothing is sacred anymore in the chase of profit? Like companies are straight up selling shit and shovelware and nobody is piking anybody?

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

That may be true now but it wasn’t always. If they hadn’t made the classics they wouldn’t be the giants they are. The incentives changed, and it was a short fall into the pits.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

True, on the other hand Nintendo was public when they made it big in the 1980’s. They were public before they stopped making trading cards and well before they thought of Mario, Kirby, and really any of the ninetendo characters we love. The same is true for Sega. What happened was C Suites starting putting their fudiciary oath to the shareholders above all else, even company name and reputation. Which, in today’s age, might explain some of FromSoftware’s uniqueness, as they are a private company.
