In games like CoD, I would bet iron sights are supposed to less good. That way they can push players to leveling up guns to get better attachments. If they happen to sell a gun in the Mtx store that has a really good sight/scope even better.
They are not a scam in general, though one could easily say that about Tesla. The reality is we need both EVs and mass transit. The mass transit infrastructure we need will take time, and EVs are a good stopgap. You are not going to have a good bus or train infrastructure tomorrow, but if you’re car shits the bed tomorrow you can get an EV. Plus there are always going to be a need for some people to have cars, and going electric is better even after manufacturing factors are taken into account. Think fleet vehicles and people that require a lot of tools and supplies for their job.
In Seattle, there is a dealer in the city, then there is a repair center in the city across the lake (Bellevue). There used to be a repair center in Seattle, but Tesla closed it. It is a terrible service model and like you said, everything takes forever.
On the other hand though, have they already closed off a lane and started on laying tram tracks where you live?
Funny you should mention that. My city just made a lane on a major thoroughfare bus only and put a express bus to downtown Seattle that uses that lane. The regional transit system is also expanding light rail quite a bit here, so it is happening. It just takes time. The light rail has been almost a decade in the making.
I have an ID.4, and their software is pretty trash. I can’t imaging adding GPT will help with anything at all. Good news is that Android Auto works really well on their vehicles. The only reason I have to use the VW is climate.
If you like beer, a good NA beer is going to be better than seltzers most of the time. If given the choice between an Athletic NA beer and a La Croix, I will take the Athletic unless it is sweltering hot outside.
That is totally fair. Usually if I am in a position to drink NA beer I am out at a bar and just want to have something without alcohol to reduce consumption.
First off, it is 100% ok to not like beer. That being said, you might want to try some other styles. If you like roasted coffee/chocolate flavors, try stouts or porters. Belgians are also one of my favorites. Tend to be more caramely, and a little yeasty. Delirium Tremens and Le Chouffe are a couple of my favorites that tend to be easy to get. If those are not around, Unibrowe brewing from Canada does Belgian style beers. Sours can also be pretty fun, and can approach juice like flavors.
I could probably go on for a bit, but there are a lot of options out there.
Hello all! I have played Ghost of Tsushima last year, and while I thought the visuals were stunning and the gameplay and atmosphere were tremendous, the game felt a bit too long and repetitive for me. The story was nice, but due to the slow pace it didn’t have the emotional impact it might have gotten if the game was a bit...
My partner and I recently did a playthrough with me at the controls and her making all the decisions, even play style. The third act of the base game fell pretty flat for both of us, and some of the forced decisions were very annoying.
spoilerKilling our horse (named Nobu) was just fucking brutal. It led us to really dislike the poor, temporary horse we got. “FUCK YOU, NOT NOBU” was a common epithet ___
We immediately played the DLC and thought it was great, and the collectables/shrines were different enough it felt fresh. The story wasn’t much to write home about, but the visuals were great. It was nice to have a new biome without it being one that doesn’t exist in Tsuahima (looking at you, snow).
The issue is, at least in the US, the “riff raff” is usually just unhoused people looking for a place to do their business in private and maybe wash up a bit. Adding a paywall to public restrooms is just cruel.
The cost is certainly a factor, but the thing about fueling up quick is a mindset shift. Imagine instead of fueling up once or twice a week, you start everyday at Full. The places the charge time becomes relevant is road trips, and there are currently cars that can go from 25-80% in 15 minutes. While that is not all, most of them do it in 20-30 minutes. On any road trip that is enough time to use the restroom or grab a bite. Having done road trips in an EV, the longer stops and potentially adding a couple extra stops does not significantly effect arrival time, and I feel way less fatigued when arriving.
For sure drive your car until the wheels fall off, but all cars have some kind of proprietary software on them. It is a big sticking point in the fight for right to repair. As far as free goes, Tesla and BMW are really the only ones being shitty about subscriptions and shit like that in their software. I have a VW ID.4 and never have to pay anything to use the software.
Apartments are for sure a problem area. In my last place we were able to trade parking spots to the one below our deck. We were able to run an extension to the spot below our balcony, but not everyone is that lucky
Tens of thousands of Tesla owners have had the suspension or steering of their vehicles — even in practically brand new ones — fail in recent years. Newly obtained documents show how Tesla engineers internally called these incidents “flaws” and “failures.”...
I’ve seen bolts and bolt EUVs in stock pretty readily, but Not sure which GM EV you are referencing. If you are still looking for a small SUV, I really like the Nissan Aryia and VW ID.4, and those should be easy to get. Kia dealers are shit almost across the board, and I have doubts about longevity.
I hope they will be able to bring their cars to the US soon. In addition to getting infrastructure to rural areas, we also need less expensive and smaller cars.
Picked up Lies of P yesterday. I am enjoying it a lot, and a lot more than I thought I would. I saw some pre-release playthroughs that left me hesitant, but it is on GamePass, so I figured why not.
It is a great mix of FromSoft concepts, pulling a lot from Bloodbourne and a little from all of them. Highly recommend if anyone wants a soulslike but don’t want to play Elden Ring again.
The only time I got banned for bigoted stuff, was precisely for quoting someone’s n-word and calling them out on it. Automod didn’t care about the context, no human did either.
It sounds like the right call was made (as long as both you and the OP were banned). As a white person, there is no reason for you to use the n-word. In that situation simply changing it to “n-word” is the very least that could have been done
I’m not really sure how that provides and example of stuff going on in the background that someone wants to keep out of sight.
No. In a nazi-free area, just kick the nazi, that’s easy. What I’m arguing is that you should give the benefit of the doubt to the other 9 people. Don’t assume.
All areas should be nazi-free areas. If any of them are truly attempting to de-radicalize someone they would know that there is a time and place for it, and out in general society is not it.
Is this another “learn the book of forbidden words” situation?
This is very reductive, dismissive and exactly the kind of thing a white supremacist would say to try and justify saying something shitty. Which is exactly PotentiallyAnApricot’s point. I could chock it up to naivety, but just as an outside observer on this thread and others, I don’t think it is.
I refused to read into white supremacist propaganda any further than seeing their basic manipulation strategies, and that was a few decades ago. Are you asking me to read the updated version?
Dismantling systemic oppression personally, interpersonally, and in greater society is a constant process. Especially as a white person. Saying you did some research decades ago and are all good now is not how it works.
The thing is, no context would have made it OK. You may have just been quoting someone, but you still used the word in the quote. Quotes are not some uneditable thing, so it was your choice to leave it in. Zero tolerance for hate means repeating the hateful thing is also not tolerated, and that, IMO, is a good thing and the perfect use of an auto-mod.
The other examples are a bit nebulous, and I have no doubt that communities on reddit have esoteric moderation guidelines, but this particular example seems pretty cut and dry.
Part of de-radicalization is reinsertion into general society.
After they are no longer a nazi. If they are still a nazi, they belong outside society.
stuff like this “Especially as a [whatever]” is what pushes people over the line.
Ok, to be be less specific, especially as the people that benefit from systemic oppression we have to keep more on it than those do not benefit from it. I used white people because we are currently the largest benefactors of systemic oppression. If that “pushes you over the line” you were too close to line to begin with.
This is not what I said.
The meaning most people get from what you said is that you learned how white supremacists manipulate people decades ago, then disengaged. Again, in order to keep getting better, you have to keep learning, and for fucking sure chuds will keep trying to distract and minimize.
Quotes are not uneditable… but neither are comments.
You kinda get into an ouroborus of who has fewer edits, and honestly I don’t know how to solve for that, but I do know that if you had substituted “n-word” for the slur it would look exactly the same if the OP edited the comment after the fact. Quoting the slur doesn’t mitigate that.
“Zero tolerance” becomes a problem when the system requires you to quote, but then some months or years later decides to change the rules and applies them retroactively. I
Any policy becomes a problem at that point. It becomes less of a policy and more of a guideline
I’d even say the genre never died, just became a little more niche. I think the ARPG kind of dominated there for a bit, but CRPGs still existed. The time between Baldur’s Gate 2 and Dragon Age: Origins was only 9 years. There were several games between those games that I quite enjoyed (Arcanum, Fallout Tactics, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, and more). I realize that wasn’t your argument at all, just wanted to add a little more weight to what you were getting across
The genre didn’t die off though. It may have become a niche, but died isn’t the right description. Not saying that means you should like it, just that it has been in the background for a very long time.
I think I figured out the disconnect here. Yes, hopping a turnstile is against the law. It is still not considered theft. It is called fare evasion, and it is more akin to a traffic violation. The reason I was confused, and why I assumed you meant morality, is that nobody is saying piracy isn’t against the law. The article never said that either.
Stranded Deep is on Game Pass, so figured I’d give it a shot. Good so far. Kind of a mix of Raft and The Forest. It is a little rough to start since you pretty quickly need to travel to other islands to get materials and the starter raft is not fun to use. Once I built my own it really picked up though
Kia has a pretty shit record with gas engines, but has been pretty good on the electric drivetrain. Hopefully they continue to make solid EVs. There need to be more lowish cost models out there.
I would suggest Vampyr or Wolfenstein: New Order as games set in the UK that would probably run great on an Ally with the bonus that they don’t support a TERF
Am I weird for not having a backlog? I have games I haven’t played much of, usually because it didn’t click with me, but can’t thing any that I have never played.
BG3 uses D&D fifth edition rules, and the game is set in the Forgotten Realms, which is the official setting for D&D right now. That being said, that can be a lot to get into, and the BG3 tutorial is trash. For character creation you might just want to pick one of the origin characters. Creating a custom character can take a good long while, even if you know the rules already. The origin characters have most of the basic classes covered and will give you a feel for the game. If you want to change it up, there is a way to change your class and stats partway through act 1. That will at least get you in the game and playing, where there are tooltips that pop up.
The last few years I have done sous vide turkey breast instead of a traditional roast bird. So much easier, so much tastier, and takes way less prep. Put the turkey in the bag, add some olive oil (or butter, but I get better results with olive oil), some salt, pepper, and herbs (I use sage, rosemary, and thyme), vacuum seal and put in a 140°F bath for at least 2.5 hours. I usually prep the day before and sous vide overnight, though. Never noticed any weird textures. Once you are ready to serve, get a cast iron skillet hot, and sear both sides of the breast in some butter. This is just for some good skin and nice maillard action. I also make a grave from the juice left in the bag, but that is entirely optional.
Ooh, smoking is also delicious. I am usually in charge of the protein because nobody else wants to deal with it, and everyone has loved the sous vide. Makes me the defacto turkey person.
This is an oversimplification, but do you think drugs don’t feel fucking fantastic? Like, how would they hook you if there wasn’t something about them on the first dose? Facebook does it by dopamine hits and confirmation bias, but the pathways are not far off.
