Opening their platform has become a more major consideration for me sense the Steam Deck, I didn’t think it would be possible in a console like form before, but the Deck has caused me to raise me standards

(Not that I was ever the biggest console gamer before either…)

mostly same here, with occasionally trying out some chromium based browsers, never understood why Firefox is referred to as an “alternative” by so many people, chrome is the alternative

On the other hand picking up your thumb is far easier than picking up a mouse, plus you can spin the ball, and the more you get used to trackballs the easier it is to move it exactly how much you want with a quick spin

I’m no expert so id love to be proven wrong but Emulation has more of an overhead than a translation layer, so that probably wouldn’t work as well

Emulation is from one architecture to another, translation layers like wine just translate windows instructions to linux, see also: every WIP ps4 “emulator” is just a translation layer, and doesn’t have the over head that it would if it was your traditional emulator

Fair, but that’s probably where our experiences differ, windows kicked me out kicking and screaming, going back for me would be traumatic

It’s funny to me becouse these days with all the remote software reinstallation and asking why you want to close one drive and things, windows isn’t exactly very personal either

100%, but I have family that uses Apple, and If I got an old mac from any of them I wouldn’t complain, I’d just quietly instal a new OS
