watersnipje,

And then they start playing horrible, distorted wait music.

watersnipje,

If you are already a cis woman, does this just reroll your stats?

watersnipje,

Ok, what the fuck is that guy doing? Also, I LOVE GECKOS LOOK AT THEIR CHEEKY LITTLE FACES

watersnipje,

When my dad first showed me this joke, I was in elementary school. I am now almost old enough to not be able to have kids anymore myself.

watersnipje,

I’ve given HEALTH a listen since this made me curious. I fail to see the metal part, just sounds like emo to me?

watersnipje,

Is this what color blind people see? Orange that might be green?

watersnipje,

Thanks. That explains very little, but I’ve accepted that this is how gen z uses the internet.

watersnipje,

My god, imagine that your smoking habit is the only discernible thing about you, so your relatives have to go with that theme…

watersnipje,

$15 for a shower?? For that price, they better have a bubble bath and a towel boy in there.

watersnipje,

Someone’s mad about people selling fruit cups? She can’t just not buy the fruit cups? Or, it’s a racism thing, isn’t it?

watersnipje,

I dunno, maybe there’s a huge lunch rush or something, I’m not familiar with the area.

watersnipje,

This picture is decades old, this woman is long dead.

watersnipje,

But how else would you get the most up to date calculus? It changes so much every year!

‘We definitely messed up’: why did Google AI tool make offensive historical images? (www.theguardian.com)

Brin’s “We definitely messed up.”, at an AI “hackathon” event on 2 March, followed a slew of social media posts showing Gemini’s image generation tool depicting a variety of historical figures – including popes, founding fathers of the US and, most excruciatingly, German second world war soldiers – as people of...

watersnipje,

They switched off image generation after these issues, so it (correctly) said that it couldn’t generate images at the time.

watersnipje,

Ooh, yes! A game without words, but incredibly beautiful.

watersnipje,

Hello fellow developer with ADHD! This sounds perfect, exactly what I’ve been searching for. Most apps were not gamified enough, or quickly devolved into some manipulative microtransaction slot machine.
I’ve signed up as monthly supporter and am now eagerly awaiting access to the beta :) Can’t wait to try it.

watersnipje,

Thank you! Yay, I just got access :)

Android Microphone Snooping (lemmy.world)

So I had a verbal conversation with a coworker yesterday and now I’m getting fed very specific ads. No possible way it’s accidental. I have most of the microphone access to apps limited, I have Google assistant turned off and no VPA setup in my home. I use a Oneplus 9 pro, does anyone have recommendations on how to further...

watersnipje,

The thing with tailored ads is, you’re more predictable than you think you are. Source: am a data scientist (not in advertisement).

watersnipje,

Spoons don’t spark in the microwave, forks do. You can heat up your chocolate milk with a spoon in it without problems.

watersnipje,

For free? The larger models require a lot of hardware.

watersnipje,

Yeah, if you already have it then it’s not really an extra cost. But the smaller models perform less well and less reliably.

In order to write a book that’s convincing enough to fool at least some buyers, I wouldn’t expect a Llama2 7B to do the trick, based on what I see in my work (ML engineer). But even at work, I run Llama2 70B quantized at most, not the full size one. Full size unquantized requires 320 GPU vram, and that’s just quite expensive (even more so when you have to rent it from cloud providers).

Although if you already have a GPU that size at home, then of course you can run any LLM you like :)

watersnipje,

Fair enough. They only have to convince the self help books crowd 🙃
