ShadowRam,

Good. It's a smart move.

Invest in large scale storage like Denmark is doing.

corsicanguppy,

That’s because LNG is a solution looking for a problem. “We need a green energy source” is NOT the problem this greenwashed fracking lie of an energy resource is there to solve.

Right now the only problem LNG is solving is “how can oil barons shift their fortunes to something that can be made to seem greener?” or “how can we screw up groundwater and create earthquakes for a hundred years for an area and line our pockets for a month?”

Honestly, if they’re not actually just creating a situation for them to speculate on - will this be the trip where the rusting high-pressure tanks filled with flammable gas will bust out and explode somewhere in the harbour or the open sea? PLACE YOUR BETS, everyone! - then I just don’t see a value anywhere along the chain from where they frack the earth and wreck the stability and the groundwater so they can suck on dinosaur farts, to where some idiot pays for those farts.

The problem is “how does Europe get around using Russian gas to heat in the winter”. LNG is transportable and reduces the sway Russia has over existing NG installations in Europe. It’s not like they’re going to change everything over to heat pumps by this winter.

bionicjoey,

Right now the only problem LNG is solving is “how can oil barons shift their fortunes to something that can be made to seem greener?”

And the only reason it seems greener is because NG is undetectable when it leaks out of pipes and storage. So they just let it spew out everywhere and don’t need to accurately report it to government agencies.
