alilbee,

I am someone with no Tarkov experience, but I like the idea of the formula and would like to play a PvE experience. I have seen Gray Zone and a few other options. Is anyone able to speak to the quality of the options out there right now without comparisons to Tarkov?

aDuckk,

If you can find a cheap or free way to access the Single Player Tarkov mod, which normally requires a legit game account, that is probably your best bet. There might be a way to fool it with a pirated copy but I haven’t needed to try since I (regrettably) purchased Tarkov ages ago.

You guys are arguing all through the comments I can’t understand at all. Just probably yo drunk, but a game guys

Fades,

I’ve been waiting for this game to land for some time now, feels good to finally get in there!!

you actually get a coop pve mode right from the get go without any additional costs and you don’t support russian war efforts with buying Gray Zone. So good game so far for me

huskypenguin,

Where are the devs from?

Czech Republic

lorkano,

Nice, never had a bad experience with Czech devs

Vikthor,

I take it you haven’t bought DayZ in early access.

Lesrid,

I made a comment referencing how bad DayZ early access was and the reply has me considering reinstalling. I remember zombies flat out ignoring walls though.

Vikthor, (edited )

I mean, it’s commendable they are still making updates. But there is a lot of stuff thats still not OK after all those years and probably won’t ever be. The cars require low server load and OK connection, otherwise you can still get the Laika experience. Also no helicopters apart from some mods. But the zombies were mostly OK last time I played.

lorkano,

I never played it yes

I dunno this looks pretty much like tarkov, except cheaper and on steam.

krashmo,

Those are two pretty massive differences imo

Daxtron2,

Actual realistically calculated bullet physics is a big feature of GZW

true. but it still takes a lot of bullets to take down a guy in a muscle shirt. Hope they fix that.

Fades,

It’s called aiming. You have to actually fucking point the goddamn gun intelligently. No shit they don’t go down when you don’t hit shit in regards to organs and such.

Listen to any spec ops and they will tell you they pump more rounds into people because simply shooting someone once ain’t gonna make them stop shooting or stay down.

The whole point of the ballistic features is to link the damage calculation to wound tracks which differ by caliber and also armor pen and expansion rate. It’s not just some brain dead shoot once and they’re gone.

Summzashi,

Lmao why are you so angry my dude

easy little buddy, it’s just a game.

priapus,

The higher tiers don’t contain any gear or perks you can’t unlock in the base edition, unlike tarkov. Also doesn’t lock an entire mode behind the highest tier.

weirdo_from_space,

I think that stuff will come later, otherwise I don’t see why they’d have multiple tiers in the first place.

priapus,

The tiers still currently offer more stuff. If people are willing to buy them for the current price, there’s no reason not to have them. I think its pretty unlikely they would add that stuff, seeing how much of their current success is based off of Tarkov making that mistake.

Fades,

Oh cool so you don’t know shit about the game but feel happy to pas judgements based on fucking nothing.

If you think it’s a tarkov clone you’re fucking braindead. Open your goddamn eyes
