USB Debugging Samsung Phone with a GUI
Is there a GUI which I can just click and disable and enable packages debugging Samsung Android phones? I heard that there are options which are much simpler than vanilla ADB. I just want to get rid ofll the Samsung/Google/Meta bloat prepackaged with the phone. Appreciate any pointers/advice.
Chromium vs Brave
This might have been discussed to death by now, unfortunately I couldn’t find any discussion on it on Lemmy. Though I would love to be corrected on that!...
cost of privacy related services
I have been reading about internet privacy for a long time. As time went on, I got a vpn subcription, a custom domain, a paid email hosting, etc. No regrets on the services themselves....

4get is a metasearch engine, similar to Searx and SearXNG...
If you use Graphene OS, what web browser do you use?
Honestly the lack of ad blockers in Vanadium pushes me towards Firefox even though the devs say that Firefox is far less secure. So many web sites are just hard to use on mobile without an ad blocker so I’m curious what the rest of you are doing.
I just want to say that I'm so happy that people are taking notice of privacy concerns in cars
Mozilla released their studies, and I’m seeing a growing number of posts on the Internet about cars and the privacy nightmare they entail. I remember how this issue wasn’t talked about earlier because “just buy an older car” was still prevalent. I’m so happy that people are taking notice. Thank you to this community...
Privacy respecting alternative to Youtube
I need a more privacy-oriented alternative to Youtube. I have try Odysee, which open-source but it has to do with tokens and that seems to me like crypto, which I don’t like. I have heard about Newpipe but this only for Android. Can you recommend me one that is also for the web and optionally open-source?...
Which search engine should I use?
I have used SearXNG for a while, but I switched to LibreX after the search engine started glitching. Recently, though, LibreX has stopped returning any results. I am currently on Mojeek, but the results aren’t that great....
Why is CalyxOS consider more private than Graphine, but Graphine is more secure?
I read a post here a while back claiming that graphine is less private but somehow more secure. Of course the only person I have to ask is the graphine Matrix who claims are the opposite of this. Generally my main concern about Calyx is it’s Fake google play thing. Apparently this is less private than graphineOS’s sandboxed...

Privacy respecting location sharing?(find my friends)
My family currently uses life360(iOS and android). But I hate their privacy policy. I’m looking for an alternative. The thing that’s difficult is I can’t find one that’s opt in to each other. Like my parents are split so they dont want to share with each other but the rest of us do. Prefer selfhosted but anything is...

Lemmy is not going to be Reddit. It will not inherit the reactionary behaviours. Ensure civillity and disengage if uncomfortable. Have a good time!
PSA: whether you use signal, element/matrix, xmpp, briar, etc, you're doing good!
I see a lot of down votes and conflict in privacy communities about which one is the best, but tbh, if you’re not using fb/sms/email you’re pretty much the top 1% of privacy users. So as far as we should be concerned, that’s good enough....
Alternative Front-Ends for Facebook?
Many businesses, non-profits, and local government offices where I live use Facebook as their primary, or exclusive, online presence. I don’t want to make a Facebook account, but I would like to be able to see some of the content that is posted there; are there any alternative front-ends that won’t abuse me with trackers? So...
