Braupakt: Two giants at it together, Weihenstephan and St Bernardus.
The Weizen yeast is obvious, with clove and banana dominating the aroma. Also some biscuit, citrus and hay. It's golden and crystal clear, with a stable white head. Effervescent, rather sweet, with a good dose of hop bitters.
Very well balanced. A good mix of the styles, with both very recognizable. Nice experiment!
Sydney has opened up consultation on a strategy to reduce car traffic and make the city more walkable
"Driving in central Sydney will become harder under a plan to make the city more comfortable for pedestrians.
"The City of Sydney wants to narrow roads for wider footpaths and push for lower speed limits to discourage drivers from the CBD and transform Sydney into a walkable city.
"The council will also install more pedestrian crossings and prioritise people over cars... five times more pedestrians than motorists on the average street, yet just 40 per cent of road space is allocated to footpaths."
We will ensure that there is sufficient space for people to walk.
We will improve connectivity for people walking by ensuring there are frequent street crossings that give people priority and that align with people’s walking routes.
We will ensure that footpaths and crossings are accessible so that everyone can use them.
We will plan our city based on 10-minute neighbourhoods so that people are able to meet their daily needs easily by walking.
We will make it safer for people to walk by reducing vehicle speeds.
We will reduce traffic volumes on surface streets and manage through-traffic in residential neighbourhood streets to improve both safety and experience for people walking.
We will work to make all people feel safer while walking around our city.
We will work to improve compliance with road rules, especially the lesser-known rules that benefit people walking.
We will make our streets and public spaces comfortable and inviting by ensuring that they
are green and cool.
We will make sure that there are frequent opportunities for people to stop and rest, use the toilet or have a drink of water.
We will make our city more pleasant to walk in by reducing noise and air pollution from
traffic.
We will make all streets interesting to walk along by ensuring that built form has active, permeable frontages that invite engagement and curiosity.
We will use design, activations and installations to create neighbourhood-based community and encourage people to interact with their streets.
Unfortunately, the car-brained leader of the local business lobby isn't on board:
"Business Sydney executive director Paul Nicolaou welcomed efforts to make the city pedestrian-friendly... But Nicolaou said it was difficult to see how making Sydney a predominantly walking city would benefit businesses such as retailers."
(Worth repeating that 80% of people on an average city street are pedestrians, so it already is a predominantly walking city.)
Anyway, if you think the plan's a good idea, make sure you let the Sydney City Council know by emailing sydneyyoursay@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
Have you installed invidious via docker? Every time I build an image and try to install it (either using the official repo or the custom from yewtube), I get errors that the video can’t be played, any suggestions what am I doing wrong?
I see now, that makes sense why you are building the image since it was set up that way. I don’t know why projects set up the compose file to build the image when they already have a publicly available image to use; it just creates unnecessary friction for people who just want to test out the software. Anyway, using that image should work for you, but feel free to ask if you run into any issues.
The lightest, this makes makes me think, what actually constitutes a gaming laptop, I have an old Intel 530 laptop, I can play Abe’s Oddysee on it, and probably fallout, which makes it a gaming laptop, why do gamers chase the latest hardware when for mere cents they can get a good experience, an experience which was a dream to many.
It’s just marketing terms and they carry zero weight (lol) or reasoning anymore. Best to ignore anything a company says and just look at the hardware and its use case. Companies will continue to lie to consumers and nothing will change that
According to Engadget’s coverage of the first model with the touchscreen case, the case mostly just lets you use functionality from the app that goes with the earbuds without actually going into the app. I don’t use the apps for my earbuds or headphones, so I can’t say how useful quicker access to their functionality would be.
I've been thinking about getting a hardware security key and have heard of yubikey before; but I want to see what my options are and if they are worth it in your opinion.
My current setup is a local KeePassXC database (that I sync between my PC and phone and also acts as TOTP authenticator app), I know that KeePass supports hardware keys for unlocking the database.
I am personally still of the belief that passwords are the safest when done right; but 2FA/MFA can greatly increase security on top of that (again, if done right).
The key work work together with already existing passwords, not replace them.
As I use linux as my primary OS I do expect it to support it and anything that doesn't I will have to pass on.
PS: what are the things I need to know about these hardware keys that's not being talked about too much, I am very much delving into new territory and want to make sure I'm properly educated before I delve in.
@kbin kbin is constantly returning 50x and 404 errors to me for the last few weeks. It's literally unusable, even for browsing. What's going on? Is it just me? should I move on to a different instance?
@ShadowRam Same goes for Lemmy. 0.19 seems to have produced some issues with outgoing federation, While most instances seem to be in the process of fixing this, the outgoing federation queues are days behind the curve in some cases.
I literally just opened Geometry Dash and was met with a terms of service pop up.
"…Why are they showing me this? Did my data get wiped or something?"
And then I see the Tower and realize that 2.2 just released.
Glad to finally see it here. Played through Dash (which is really easy for an insane imo, beat it much more quickly than usual), and it was mostly great! Only issue is that I REALLY don't like the swing copter. It's not fun to use at all.
@juggles
Can't say I'm great at it either. Honestly, platformer game type is a weird concept for Geometry dash, but I don't mind it. The way different game modes are incorporated into it is really fun though
@lwuy9v5 Yes it is KCD. I'm doing a hardcore, all negative percs, no kill run, so i basically have to use ways to kill without it adding to the kills stat.
Not saying you have to or anything, and I can understand and respect using something like MX Linux to save time on the customization. Just know that because it’s based on Debian, any core OS updates will be delayed while the MX team rebases them into their fork.
Oh cool! They look really interesting but after like 25 years of using regular mice, I thought they might just be a gimmick or something haha Vielen Dank, Apfel!
