I can’t wait… these are the sorts of games that are made for portable play… I don’t want to play Zelda and pause the game mid-swing, I want this, backpack battles, etc.
IMTX can be fair if these don’t abuse the players time, and offer fun content.
IMTX and not wasting players time are nearly mutually-exclusive. These games are designed with the MTX in mind at every single step of the process, and are made with the soleintent of maximizing MTX sales. Them wasting your time is not a mistake, but an intentional (and meticulously-researched and -designed) feature.
There are exceptions, yes, of course, but they are few and far between.
But you should already be filthy rich at that point, so who cares 🤷♂️ the choice is largely irrelevant after a few years and, regardless of which option you choose, you should be well into the millions after a decade.
Steps let me build up actual wealth over the course of just a year or two. Breathing keeps me comfy my whole life, but I can’t be really wasteful for a few years.
The steps option has a way higher ceiling and can give you significantly more money when you need it most (i.e. early in this scenario). The breathing one will probably net you more money in the end, but that would likely be when you already have a huge excess and it doesn’t matter much.
I feel like every single family home has HOA dues, these days, so that comparison is kinda moot. Whether it’s condo fees, HOA dues, or the local cartel extorting you for protection, you’re gonna get nickel and dimed.
This was clearly inevitable even before they chased away every customer they’ve ever had and every potential customer that has ever looked into the engine. Now that so many people have jumped ship, I would not be surprised if this was just the first of many such moves.

…are you allowed to have layoffs after receiving a $3.5M settlement from your publisher? I know everyone will be feeling bad for the devs but this sounds sketchy as hell of them
