When I try [sudo nmtui] it gives me "Command nmtui not found, but can be installed with: [sudo apt install network-manager].

Which circles me back to my original problem where I don’t have network connectivity.

I was following this walk-through (lemmy.world/post/6542543) for getting Docker and all its container apps set up, so that’s why I went with Ubi Server. I downloaded 24.04 as its the latest version. Would Mint be able to substitute Server for those things?

My Daily Driver has Mint on it and its working just fine. If I can use Mint instead of Server, that’d make things so much easier.

Yes. It sees it as “Ethernet Adapter - Microsoft”

Ubi is just my short-hand for Ubuntu. And I’d love to be able to install Network-Manager, but I can’t/dont know a work-around

Sorry, figured it would be an easy shorthand. But with so many different distros out there, I can see how that could be seen as just another one of those. I’ll keep that in mind in the future.

I hate that my only realistic options for presidential candidates are

A) a geriatric wannabe-dictator who wants to dismantle my country and it’s laws for selfish gains

B) a geriatric president not only ignoring calls for an investigation into Israel conducting genocide, bit actively providing the country with the weapons to do so

This timeline is fucked.

SecretSauces,
@SecretSauces@lemmy.world avatar

If i wanted to list everything wrong with A, it would be a novel

In the collective hands of everyday people.

The issue is, the collective is divided, on purpose, by greedy corporations, corrupt politicians, and dishonest talking heads in the media.

The scientific community could yell from the largest pulpits, but as long as we are separated by “my team vs your team” politics, and everything being politicized, we will remain stagnant and doomed. Progress is dead. If not now, soon. Especially as AI becomes smarter and more easily accessible. We won’t know what is true or AI-Gen garbage in a couple (and i mean a COUPLE) of years.

I wish, i PRAY this comment is the most incorrect thing i ever post and we somehow turn things around. I try to play my part by voting, turning to renewables in energy and anything i buy, and informing myself and those around me of ways to be better. But individual people divided can only do so much. It will take the collective human effort to get on the right side of this. Because the collective bad actors, the rich elites, are doing what they need to keep us on the wrong side of progress.
