Most people don’t use federated services. I know it’s ironic that an open source project isn’t using open source channels, but sometimes it’s best to stick to services that are easy access and popular.
I’m sure if enough people got in contact about using open source communication they would likely attempt it.
Right but a small company or even a group of people aren’t going to put resources into something that a few % of people use. Look at Linux, despite it being the most used operating system in the world, retail sticks to windows and Mac, so it just doesn’t get the same level of support.
I completely agree in the sense people should educate themselves and use products that benefit them and don’t abuse them, but people don’t. And because people don’t, companies won’t.
A familiar horror reached Pooja Kanda first on social media: There had been a sword attack in London. And then Kanda, who was home alone at the time, saw a detail she dreaded and knew all too well....
Banning the sword does not delete the sword. It will still exist, killing a person with a sword is already illegal and people still do it. It’s a much deeper problem
The difference is people in the UK don’t need guns, there’s no use for them except “in rural areas”. While yeah you can ban swords, the people stabbing people with swords could just as easily switch to kitchen knives . And I don’t know how I’m going to chop my veggies if we go down the road of banning every item people use to kill eachother.
The UK has severe mental health issues due to underfunding of health services. We also have severe poverty growth, we have alot of worsening of of situations for people that we need to address.

Try to take your emotion from the discussion. There is finally a way for people with an illness (in this case pedophilia) to “satisfy” urges without causing harm to children. They need professional help which cannot be gained easily in the UK due to a certain government removing funds.
This isn’t a give pedos stuff celebration, it’s a discussion that needs to happen and if you’re not mature enough to not get emotional, don’t partake in the conversation.
That’s why satisfy was in quotations, it’s not a black and white matter, for a lot of people this does nothing. But for alot of people this is something that is potentially life altering.
And I agree with what you’re saying to an extent. But you watch porn to satisfy an urge, if I watch a certain category of porn it doesn’t mean I want to go out and experience that category.
This is a complicated Matter, and someyhing a magistrate is not equipped to deal with.
Strange, didn’t know that was in the renewable objective brief. I thought It was about reducing reliance on fossil fuels, not sticking it to chyna, silly me.
Of course it exists, so does US spyware, German spyware, British spyware Turkish spyware.
I mock people because they think China are trying to figure out what cereal they eat. It’s rational to have concerns, it’s irrational to only be concerned about China.
I’m not arguing with your parenting style or saying you’re doing it wrong etc etc, I agree with it in theory but I’d like to share my younger sisters story.
My mum decided she couldn’t have social media until she was “old enough” to protect her, this however caused her to end up getting a secret phone and create secret social media accounts. This eventually led to her being cyber bullied by students at her school who’s parents were less cautious. But because she was doing all of this secretly as her mum had said no to social media, she didn’t feel like she could get the support she needed. Fortunately she had an older brother who could help her, but I couldn’t go to the school for her as I’m not her guardian.
I personally after this would lean into the world of not necessarily supervised social media usage, but educating and cautioning what it means to post on social media. How it will never go away and when it’s there, it’s there forever.
My sister fully understands this now and is doing alot better, but ultimately the damage is done.
I fully understand the point of view of no social media until 18, I just want you to be aware of potential consequences of being strict on it.
Except if anyone paid any attention to Microsoft over the last 5 years they’d already know that Microsoft don’t want exclusives because they want to bring PC and Xbox together.
People need to stop being baited by shitty journalists. Grow a braincell or 2.
Edit: The braincell part not directed to the commenter above me.
Well you’ve said it yourself, Microsoft are trying to remove that physical limitation to accessing a platform. But Microsoft knows what the market wants, people have been against exclusives for a long time and they want to remove that, I shouldn’t have to spend £300 to play a game when I have equipment already capable of playing a game Infront of me.
So being scared that Xbox is going to disappear is stupid, the consoles might, but Microsoft has been transforming Xbox into a platform for years, starting with the release of windows 7 when they introduced XboxLive for windows alongside halo 2. This has been a long term goal.
Ubuntu’s popularity often makes it the default choice for new Linux users. But there are tons of other Linux operating systems that deserve your attention. As such, I’ve highlighted some Ubuntu alternatives so you can choose based on your needs and requirements—because conformity is boring.
To add to that, there’s so much “support” out there for Debian and by proxy Ubuntu. You can Google any error and you’ll find the fix. That’s what draws new people to them. Even my self even though I’m not new to the Linux ecosystem. Ubuntu makes a perfectly good and stable server operating system.
That’s fine for someone willing to read documentation, the average user would rather read a forum post, which Ubuntu has a shit load of posts about using and fixing it.
But I don’t need to buy an entire pc “every generation” I can just buy a new GPU, and a low tier XX60 series or equivalent is always going to be faster than a console.
And if you’re that stretched for money, you can always pirate games much easier on a PC than a console. Legally grey but morally pirating because you can’t afford is fine.
You could have a petabyte of VRam it won’t make up for the fact that consoles have to use less powerful chips due to their form factor and can’t cool appropriately.
