I’ve got a video but not sure about a text place.

The basics are hatred of women and having their characters raped, a misunderstanding of Trek leading to some awful storylines and characters (and Enterprise, as it was almost entirely his baby), he had zero TV experience save for a kids show, he was impossible to work with, he shot down stories for little to no reason, he was a bigoted piece of shit, he micro managed everything to fuck, he HATED gay representation and repeatedly shut it down, the show runner of DS9 had to actively lie to him to get the show made, he was an awful writer but insisted on writing anyway, he was toxic management type to the point of forcing names off of scripts and putting his own name on, pushed people to their breaking points, interfered repeatedly with everything in front of him to the point you can SEE the interference in certain episodes and was a particular cunt with contract negotiations.

That’s not remotely all of it.

The correct answer to the post is that he is the villain.

I’ve always thought this take was unimaginably short sighted and just… Dumb.

I liked the sequels (generally) but see why people don’t like them. See why people say that they ruined Star Wars. Again, I don’t agree but I see the point. It was a continuation of the story and did whatever.

JJ made an alternate universe for Trek though. Literally the only bits of canon he added to Trek was that the Romulan star went Supernova and Spock prime was flung into the alt timeline in an attempt to help save the Romulans. That’s it.

People keep saying JJ ruined Trek but the dude did literally nothing other than make an alternate universe. Trek was still untouched. Spocks attempt to save Romulus is even super in line with Spocks character after Unification II as well.

JJ may have “ruined” Star Wars but the only thing he did to Trek was make a couple movies people didn’t like (that can be COMPLETELY ignored) and reinvigorate life back into a franchise that had been shelved.

Well, Star Trek has a lot of diversity now a days on what kind of Trek you’re looking for. Something that I’m really happy about! Gives a lot more paths and ways to work into Trek. While I do agree that TNG (The Next Generation) is the best of Trek, it’s not necessarily going to be always the best thing to get someone hooked on Trek.

So what kind of Sci-Fi are you looking for? What’s your vibe? Whats your jam? Any other Sci-Fi that you like? Might very well be that TNG is your best start but I figured I’d ask <3

Yeah I haven’t properly edited mine in a bit. I’m also mostly using the 25th Century layout, I just switched to original LCARS recently. Probably gonna go back in all honesty. I like the more muted colors. That and, well, I already edited it to my hearts content lol

It’s no worries buddy. The user you’re talking to, @exocrinous, is an alternate account of @exocrinous and @DroneRights. Remember my post when I mentioned the ST.W mods were allowing transphobic material to stay up from a user who was banned from numerous websites for transphobic behavior? This is that user.

They have created a db0 account because they finally realized that their lemm.ee account was banned from lemmy.world. No matter. This new account is banned now as well. Especially given they openly are using alternate accounts and saying how they’ve been banned from numerous sites.

They’re just a desperate and pathetic troll. Arguing with them is totally pointless.

They keep trying to say that I’m ableist because I called them a narcissist. Even was making posts saying “Stamets said the N word!” and when people asked for proof they offered up the narcissist comment.

Eh, I didn’t do much here. Thank @FlyingSquid for keeping the peace! All I did was ban Exocrinous. I’d say I looked forward to it but honestly I just keep forgetting they exist. They seem to believe that they’re some big threat or a pain like a lion or a honeybadger when at best they’re an aphid. An organism that the vast majority of humanity doesn’t notice or care about. One that I keep forgetting exists as well. Then it’s just a “Huh. I forgot that was a thing”, a ban, and back on with reality.

Oh thanks <3 We keep banning them from lemmy.world too so their comments are never seen by this instance no matter what. At least some of us do. I keep forgetting this person even exists until someone makes me aware of them. Then it’s just another ban and forgetting they exist again.

It is hilarious how much of a victim they’re making themselves out to be here when I don’t even think about them and when I am made aware of them through posts like this the only thing I’m really noticing is the stench of desperation that rolls off of them.

If you don’t like political posts, feel free to downvote and move on. But we’re not making a rule against all posts about politics just because you don’t like it. If the community is swarmed with political memes from multiple people, then sure we’ll talk about if a rule needs to be added and probably ask the community, but there have been exactly 2 political posts and you are responsible for one of them. That does not even remotely rise to the point of needing a rule about it.

That specific version of Lore/Data was an organic android that was invented in season 1 of Picard. A totally synthetic mind in totally synthetic body that was organically created. He can full on age and die now and he was plugged into Daystrom for years. My guess is they created him at a certain age and then he just got older while plugged in.

HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW FOR ALL DATA STUFF

TNG Data died in Nemesis. In Season 1 of Picard its said they were able to rebuild his positronic net and that he’s been active inside of a simulation for ages. He’s bored fucking senseless and is the founding basis of a new species of organic androids. He asks Picard to kill him by just turning off the simulation and shutting him down. Picard does so.

In Season 3 of Picard they find one of those organic androids but its Data. He was built seperate from the simulation version. An attempt was made to join Lore and Data into one body which failed on its own. Data eventually fixes the problem himself and ends up as a fully organic android. He’s a real boy now. He was feeling emotions and having gut instincts. Was aging and had no problem with it. Made jokes. Used contractions. Full culmination of his story. I loved it.

Fucking horrible. Hopefully more care will be taken for the chutes but honestly those things are looked after pretty carefully and closely to begin with. This is just awful. Blame lies 100% with Israel. If they weren’t war criming it up around here and blocking all other paths of aid to the Gazan citizens then this shit wouldn’t have happened. A truck doesn’t fall on someones head randomly and that package was only dropped because BiBi is Goebbels 2.0. Ah okay, I see why you may have thought that I was saying Hamas was blameless but you have misunderstood. I am not talking the start of the conflict. I am talking the aid. The only reason that this happened was because Israel was blocking other alternatives to give aid to the people in Gaza. This means that the blame lies 100% with Israel.

My point about one horrible thing doesn’t equal another horrible thing is backing that point up. Israel doesn’t get to deprive innocent civilians of aid just because something bad happened to them. This is what you are arguing and I find it morally disgusting.

I didn’t need to. This was a post about an aid package that was dropped on someone, not about the war in general. It is not on me to clarify that I am talking about the thing that I am directly responding/commenting on. It is on you to be able to make an extremely simple logical leap that I am talking about the thing I am responding to.

You need to learn to take responsibility when a misunderstanding is your fault, not blame the other person.
