Unyieldingly,

Same as Debian but with pre-installed firmware, and other stuff. also the desktop GUI gets updates and it has backports enabled by default.

Unyieldingly,

Unyieldingly,

yeah it does it has from the start.

Unyieldingly,

So they have GPL Violation’s?

Unyieldingly,

They’re pulling packages from Debian and i don’t know if they’re doing Nvidia like stuff or not.

Unyieldingly,

Only if 2026 is the year of the Risc V Linux Wayland Desktop .

Unyieldingly,

When is Valve going to release SteamOS Desktop? I would use it for many things.

Unyieldingly,

Don’t think so as they asked for “Workstation KDE” and “Workstation GNOME” > Issue tagged with: changes, f42 I think Fedora was doing a lot of work on KDE anyways.

Unyieldingly,

The CIA will know, we will most likely not.

Unyieldingly,

was not ready you had to use a PPA to make it work well.

Unyieldingly,

yeah it worked for most people back then as well, not well as today, and it has been my to tool for audio before the 1.0 release they fixed a lot of issues, and part of the Linux DE Stack had to make a lot of changes as well, the core for Linux Mint is older then 2 years.

Fedora is a Developers OS after all, it would need to pull stuff like that in before most do.

Unyieldingly,

Flatpak is why i moved to Debian, Running a Stable OS with the latest packages have made my Linux Desktop a full replacement for Windows, MacOS and Rolling releases.

Unyieldingly, (edited )

dual boot/vm i have a old drive to test new software.

How performant are the Intel Arc GPUs in linux?

I saw the other day about the new video of Hardware Unboxed where they benchmarked the Intel GPUs with newer drivers on Windows. I’m also interested in buying one but I’d like to know how good they are on Linux. Since the GPUs will be using Vulkan renderer on Linux, I was hoping they would be better overall, or rather have a...

Unyieldingly,

Wait for Battlemage, the DG2 cards will not have full support with the newer drivers also BattleMage is coming out soon.

Snap Trap: The Hidden Dangers Within Ubuntu's Package Suggestion System (www.aquasec.com)

Aqua Nautilus researchers have identified a security issue that arises from the interaction between Ubuntu’s command-not-found package and the snap package repository. While command-not-found serves as a convenient tool for suggesting installations for uninstalled commands, it can be inadvertently manipulated by attackers...

Unyieldingly,

Steam snap was so broken Valve told people to use the .deb or flathub.

Unyieldingly,

Good one day i maybe able to use AMD hardware and dump cuda, it really sucked not being able to to use simple software do to AMD’s zero support.

Unyieldingly,

up to AMD Ryzen 7XXX and Intel 13xxx Should Work just fine, and at most you may have to use the Debian backport Kernel 6.5 soon to be 6.6, and or pop a new wifi card in it as Dell ships some shitty wifi cards.

backports.debian.org btw LMDE has backports enabled by default.

I have a new Dell laptop with LMDE on it. The laptop works just fine, all my apps are from flathub other then the ones that shipped with LMDE.

Unyieldingly,

Linux is not Unix if you want to use Unix someone has it on floppy disks.

Unyieldingly,
