why? I dont know man but after 30 minutes without any fun whatsoever I just close that game. That’s my treshold for not wasting my time on games I dont like. This also applies to games I used to like:
I played a lot of FF14, but after the Endwalker ending it was just talking, talking and more talking without any real gameplay in between those talks and that was simply no fun for me anymore, because I like me some gameplay in my games.
that is a very bold statement. I would wait until release before I make any conclusions.
I must admit that the first seconds of the trailer are looking beautiful but the gameplay then suffers from the same issues (strange controls and a horrendous framerate) of the base game.
After all this time and for a singleplayergame without any server issues, this is quite alarming.
Witchfire is clearly labeled as Early Access, don’t see the problem in this case. If you want a finished game don’t buy Witchfire yet. If you want to moan about modern gaming in general maybe use another post?
okay then keep complaining buddy. But I think early access gives developers the opportunity to release their games earlier and gather feedback and refine them.
You are not forced to buy them and reality is without early access we wouldn’t have indie hits like valheim, hades, everspace, divinity or baldurs gate.
The video game industry is currently facing a big wave of layoffs, and even contract developers at PlayStation first-party studio Naughty Dog aren’t immune. Kotaku has learned that the maker of hits like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Last of Us Part II has begun cutting contracts short for dozens of workers....
strange, seems to be a country related thing. Working as an UI designer in germany and tech companies here are doubling down on “work wherever the fuck you want”…
My company has offered it from the beginning of covid and did not change it at all and my latest job offers included a 100% work from home option and also a few startet to offer a 4 days week with the compensation of 5 days.
Whenever a fast paced action game like Devil May Cry, Prodeus, HiFi Rush or Doom have a grading system then I would feel like not continuing them as if some one is judging my performance, instead of a bar to get better....
a bit sad that I will never finish this game but after shadowbringers and over 800 hours ingame I couldn’t force myself trough this game and the lack of real gameplay anymore.
to rest of you playing, have fun with the new patch and the upcoming addon 🙃
don’t get me wrong the gameplay of ff14 is great, especially the slower, more focuesd combat system. I was getting tired of those stretched out story sequences and text passages where you really listened to npc after npc without any real gameplay in between besides some traveling from a to b and then rinse and repeat.
If I compare this now to my other favourite mmo Guild Wars 2, its night and day. In Guild Wars 2 you play the actual game, sure there are story beats here and there where you watch and listen, but the rest is pure gameplay, interaction with other players and exploring a well crafted world that does not feel artificial like it did in ff14.
