forgotaboutlaye,

Not living in Canada anymore, but when I visit in June they won't get a cent from me.

forgotaboutlaye,

The last 2 MW have been multi-gen releases, so one good thing you can say about COD is that the engine is well optimized. Given MW3 doesn't look much different than MW2 (not a criticism), I'm assuming a solid launch.

forgotaboutlaye,

Controllers in general are also extremely accessible, and expandable for those that might struggle using a tradtional mouse and keyboard.

forgotaboutlaye,

Is there any ranking of 'most pirated game' tracked by leechers accross to top indexes?

I remember FIFA being the first thing everyone pirated when I lived in the dorms in University.

forgotaboutlaye,

I would upgrade for a slightly smaller, more battery efficient Steamdeck with an OLED screen. I know that's a lot to ask for, but definitely performance is the least of my concerns.

forgotaboutlaye,

This is really sad to see -- I absolutely loved PD2 at release. It's some of the most fun co-op moments I've ever had in a game (maybe even the best).

I also played the beta and enjoyed the refined experience, but have still been working through BG3 and Starfield, so I decided to hold off on playing. Was hoping for a smooth release for everyone excited to play the game, so it's disappointing to see how terrible the experience has been at launch.

forgotaboutlaye,

Maybe eventually, but TES has 5 main title games, an MMO and a mobile game. It will take more than one release for Starfield to prove iteself.

forgotaboutlaye,

I hope they continue to expand on the gore systems in the game. I know that doesn't keep a game fresh for 10s of hours, but I do appreciate how they lean into the carnage factor. Reminds me of Soldier Of Fortune 1+2 in the sense.

Half-Life 2 RTX, An RTX Remix Community Project - Announcement Trailer (youtu.be)

Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project is a new community-made remaster of one of the highest-rated games of all time, Valve’s Half-Life 2. Half-Life 2 RTX is being developed by four of Half-Life 2’s top mod teams, now known as Orbifold Studios. Using the latest version of RTX Remix, the modders are leveraging NVIDIA...

forgotaboutlaye,

Probably doesn't need to be said at this point, but HL2 has such a timeless look that even the original graphics still look great to me.

Perhaps that makes it a great candidate for technology like this, as the underlying assets are fantastic.

forgotaboutlaye,

I have enjoyed the 2 new Modern Warfares -- I played Cod-MW3 growing up, but only the campaigns, so MW2019 was my first MP COD, and I had a lot of fun for what it was. Warzone was also the first BR that appealed to me, and I ended up playing a lot of it as well. I'd guess I completed 3-4 battlepasses before I realized I wasn't enjoying myself anymore

I skipped BO3 and Vanguard, but by the time MW2 was coming out last year, I had the apetite to try CoD again, and the campaign was okay (not as good as MW2), and I enjoyed the MP about 2/3s as much as I did MW2019. I had some fun with the extraction game mode, and finished the S1 battlepass, but haven't come back since.

Another MW3 so soon feels like a misstep here. I am curious about the campaign, since it seems like they're mixing some cool setpiece levels from MW2+3, but that's not worth full price to me.

Anyway, just my view as a casual COD player.

forgotaboutlaye,

I really enjoyed FO4. It didn't live up to Fo3 or NV for me, but I still had a blast playing through multiple times.

[Humble Bundle] Spaced Out Bundle (Journey to the Savage Planet, Breathedge for €9.14; add Outer Worlds, Trover Saves the Universe, The Entropy Centre for €13.72; add High on Life and Outer Worlds Expansion Pass for €27.44) (www.humblebundle.com)

This bundle will warp you to the kookiest sectors of the cosmos with titles like High on Life, Journey to the Savage Planet, The Outer Worlds, and more!

forgotaboutlaye,

I've never heard of that one, but I personally enjoyed The Outer Worlds, but got it in the recent Humble Monthly. Was hoping for Outer Wilds when I first saw the listing.

forgotaboutlaye,

How am I supposed to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment without paying for my dice rolls?

forgotaboutlaye,

$49.99 - That's a bit of a stretch for me.

forgotaboutlaye,

Xenia Canary runs RDR really well if you haven't tried it yet. I was surprised I was able to get through the entire game without problems on my ~5yr old gaming laptop.

forgotaboutlaye,

Honestly I haven't been following the development or marketing for this game, but I like Todd's games so I know I'll end up buying it.

forgotaboutlaye,

Yeah, I don't get it -- the game is essentially online-only (not sure if you can play with bot teammates like the previous titles, but that wasn't too enjoyable anyway). Why pay for Denuvo as well unless you're out of touch?

forgotaboutlaye,

I've also been rekindling my love for CRPGs by playing through D:OS2. I first played it a couple years ago, but got distracted part way through. Going back instantly hooked me again. Can't wait for BG3.

forgotaboutlaye,

I watched two of the three, and really enjoyed them. Sure, I'd much rather see more gameplay, and they didn't do anything to sell me on the game itself, but they were enjoyable nonetheless

forgotaboutlaye,

Couldn't agree more. The main reason I picked it up was because it ran so well on my Steamdeck (which I use more in the Summer due to how cool it runs compared to my laptop). I was disappointed when I read the news about FaceIt being implemented down the road, but happy that it will be done so with Linux in mind.

forgotaboutlaye,

I picked up the GTA Remastered Trilogy during the Steam sale, so I've been playing San Andreas. It's a game I used to have on xbox, and despite never completing the main story, playing it back then is a key gaming memory for me.

It's very bittersweet -- the remaster is absolutely terrible (although from what I've seen on YouTube, drastically improved), but the game is still really fun to play, which is a true testiment to the game itself. I really hope Rockstar releases a few more patches though. It's criminal to abandon one of their best games in such a state.

forgotaboutlaye,

Since the Starfield gameplay showcase, I've been really itching to download Fallout 4 again. I might be a minority, but I absolutely loved the combat in it. Are you playing with any mods?
