Motherfuckers need real struggle in their lives if this is the shit they’re wasting their time on. Art will be diverse, always has been. Get the fuck over yourself and move on to something that caters to whatever bullshit narrative you need to wake up everyday and be an ignorant piece of shit. I mean, the Bible is a work of fiction that’s been whitewashed with a cracker ass jesus, how about we start there?
Apologies for the rant, I usually have this type of nonsense filtered outta my feed.
I have no doubts about that. It’s a sentiment I hear echoed all the time in the smaller PNW town I live in. How can someone possibly have freedoms and equality unless it’s taken from someone else.
I’m in the minority (no politics intended) that enjoys the reboot/5. It’s a lot like SR2 under the surface and has some really great gameplay moments. Are there warts, yeah. Are there some bad design decisions? Oh for sure. But, it’s an enjoyable podcast game and sometimes that’s enough!
Could not agree more about Volition. During that early/mid 00-10’s era they were an immediate buy as a studio. From RF1 all the way to SR4. They completely embodied the AA tier of games.
Great gameplay, fun story and characters and, in just about every game one or two unique ideas that set them apart from their peers.
I’ve been remote for close to 10 years. In that time, I’ve had more personal and professional growth than I ever did the 10 before. There’s no conditions that would compel me back to an office with any regularity. These line goes up sociopaths are a lot more bearable over zoom and I’d like to keep it that way.
I absolutely appreciate that schedule works for you and can see the personal benefits. However, we have such a diversified work force thanks to things like complete remote, I still would like for companies to error on the side of what provides the best performance and quality of life.
I understand that’s a utopian ideal and don’t expect it to ever be reality, just wish that it would be manifested better before I once again see amazing talent lost to middle managements inability to evolve. Especially in markets that this type of action should be entirely voluntary.
Originally there was supposed to be one in 2042 but if I remember correctly they couldn’t get it running in time for launch so it was planned to be added in as post launch content. That was the reason for a lot of the design decisions in the release build of 2042 seeming so disjointed for a traditional battlefield game. I think it’s ridiculous that they’re chasing that. It’s not what the brand has been about since it’s inception and honestly seems further away from what most of us long time battlefield fans want out of the series. That said, we certainly aren’t generating new revenue streams for them so I understand how they have to Make sure that line goes up every year.
I liked the Oregon Trail Generation. It fits pretty well for this 80’s baby. I also fell like I get along with x and millennial equally.
Working in tech, I’ve been shoulder to shoulder with both a while now. Each generation has it’s quirks, but both want to be seen as individuals with their own motivations and boundaries. Like every other human, those can be wildly different but neither of these two groups seem keen on intentionally shitting on someone’s day.
Holy shit, Anthem! I had completely blanked on that game despite spending a few hundred hours playing it during the pandemic with a friend who lived a continent away.
We figured we might never see each other again so that was how we hung out. Man, that game was so amazingly mid.
As a pretty early adopter of VR, I just don’t see any compelling reason to pick up a PSVR2. We have a Quest, PSVR1, Rift and Index in house (hell I’m sure there’s a Google Daydream somewhere in a future ewaste box)… and none of them get any real use in our household. We’re pretty solidly in the target audiences from teenage boys to manchild adults. VR hasn’t got the point where it’s more than a nice to have tech and the development resources being thrown at it are lacking any real lustre to push it forward in to the mainstream. Things like headset exclusive releases don’t drive sales they way they do with consoles. They just create further fragmentation in an already sparse market.
That and the obligatory fuck Meta and their required FB accounts. Y’all can kiss my ass.
Closures and layoffs are always a terrible thing. My questions are, what accountability is on place for the executives and shareholders that pushed for this expansion with no forethought to the industry stabilizing back to expected growth after the pandemic and how many of these are studios that were directed to creat GaaS and live service trash?
I hope the folks actually effected by these cuta find a better place once the fallout has settled.
It’s a bummer we can’t decline Steam Game updates anymore. That would help avoid these types of situations. Being forced to update a game before launching it was always going to lead to this type of bullshit. Same with all the GTA fuckery.
And they will. I’ve had a Quest 1 for ages and recently went to hook it up again and it had forced Facebook accounts. Used to be the gen 1 could still be used with just an Oculus account or “offline”. That’s no longer the case. We decided to make a FB account to use with it (never had one in the past) only to find that it couldn’t “authenticate” properly with PiHole running… so I now have a piece of e-waste that used to be a functional headset sitting on the pile.
It was a beyond frustrating experience and made the option of ever purchasing a gen 2 or 3 a null factor. I’ll stick to the Rift and Index and deal with wires across my living room.
Community Dedicated Servers are always the answer. Every game I enjoyed growing up had amazing servers that were ran by fans. I was a mod on some of my favorite TFC ones. It’s a great way to keep cheaters out and build a sense of comraderie amongst the regulars.
That is a pretty amazing launch lineup. For the 40 or 50 people that purchased and are still playing those games.
Kidding aside, I feel like all growth and movement in this segment is good. We can’t have Nvidia holding down their monopoly and keeping features exclusive to certain series of cards like they do now.
Agreed! I really dug Stadia. It was killed off far to early. None of the other streaming services offer anything close to Stadia’s streaming quality and consistency.
Outriders was a decent game. It is interesting how much it got bombed for not being an endless endgame like Destiny 2 or the like. I enjoyed my time with it and was ready to be done by the time we finished the main campaign and did a bit of the endgame. It almost felt like the grind at the end was intentionally telling players to stop playing. lol
