I wouldn't play this game because of my very "woke" anti gun and anti-war sentiments. I think whenever I see a game ad with someone holding a gun, what a sad thing that the video game industry has evolved into - everyone has to use a gun to solve their problems or get "points" in life. Pretty disturbing when you see how young males are groomed to be gun lovers. And really, it's the worst possible sort of image to be feeding them.
Now that everyone know this can be done, every country in the world needs to worry about terrorists replicating this. Maybe in the old days they need to go through security checkpoint at the airport to hijack large planes for 9/11, but now they only need a large plane and some time.
GLSDB is a pretty nice weapon. Combines the range and capability of a bomb with a glide kit boosted to altitude via a rocket. This type of weapon is new for the US as they normally have air superiority, so boosting the glide bombs from the ground wasn’t previously needed as they would be carried up by an aircraft instead.
A short range missile (such as GMLRS, which HIMARS also fires) does not have the glide kit. This means the missile is much faster, but for maximum range the missile has to follow a (vaguely) ballistic trajectory. With the glide kit, it can trade much of that speed into additional range by gliding to the target. This means GLSDB gliders can hit targets at further range, but being slower, it’s easier to shoot down and makes it less able to hit extremely time sensitive targets. IIRC, GMLRS missiles have a time-to-target of 2-3 min from launch, while GLSDB gliders have (a guesstimate on my part) more like 10-15min from launch. GLSDB gliders can also sacrifice some of the range to loop around and hit targets from different angles, while GMLRS missiles are pretty much only top-down. GLSDB gliders are also significantly cheaper than GMLRS missiles.
Appreciate the informative response! I’m ashamed to say it hadn’t ever occurred to me that a missile still needs to follow a ballistic path. I’ve been fooled by movies without realising the nonsense in that, given they have no ‘wings’. Control surfaces aside of course. Thanks!
There are over 1000 Pokemon at this point. There's bound to be some level of similarity here and there. Gamefreak even designed Pokemon after other creatures, so it just seems somewhat silly to point a finger.
What do you think software engineers work on for Hershey? They don’t make chocolate in a cloud factory. Factory automation needs iron moved around, and there you go.
I’m sorry you wouldn’t think so. I’ve seen far sketchier.
is there an award for best music? cause starfield should win that
and i cant believe hogwarts didnt get 1 nomination. that was a fantastic game and it made my mother so happy to be a witch in the harry potter world and explore hogwarts
I really liked control, mostly for the exploration and SCP file discovery. I’m not a big fps person (usually play RPGs), but obviously telekinetic battle is cool. I saw Alan Wake 1 on the switch, but I wasn’t sure if I would like it based on the preview. It’s it like mystery solving exploration or more battle?
It’s both, honestly - mystery solving during the day, but battles at night when the enemies come out. The controls are a bit hard to use because they feel dated, so I didn’t play that much of it, but the new game is supposedly a lot better in that regard.
