A member of the Reform party - a party whose every principle, tenet, and policy is based on pure unadulterated racism - said and/or did something racist?
They always do this. Every fucking time they want to make policies about us, they contact transphobic activists instead of actual experts on the question. What fucking expertise does she have?! And even more, haven’t you done enough against trans people already? Like, you need to justify doing more against them, seriously?
The internet has often talked about how some of the states in the US are run by people who are absolutely deranged about trans people, but the UK is just something else.
The whole UFP thing is so wishy washy. It’s such a broad category it is essentially meaningless, one of the earlier guardian articles talked about sliced bread being a UPF as it has added vitamins and minerals due to law.
If you closer at the whole topic it just comes across as saying if you are poor and eat food that you can afford you will die earlier. Writing a reminder of this on the food will not help anyone but it will make poor people feel a bit more like shit.
The point of these kinds of efforts is to shift the blame. “It’s easy to know which foods are good and bad with this handy system, so if someone is only eating bad foods, that’s their choice, and the rest of us can blame them for their poor health.”
The US has couped and attempted coups of better nations for worse reasons and yet they give this genocidal maniac all the leeway and weapons he could ask for. This is who the US is. There’s simply no money to be made saving victims of genocide so they will go unsaved.
The suspected source of Vibrio cholerae in Haiti was the Artibonite River, from which most of the affected people had consumed the water. Each year, tens of thousands of Haitians bathe, wash their clothes and dishes, obtain drinking water, and recreate in this river, therefore resulting in high rates of exposure to Vibrio cholerae.
The cholera outbreak began nine months after January 2010 earthquake, leading some observers to wrongly suspect it was a result of the natural disaster. However, Haitians grew immediately suspicious of a UN peacekeeper base, home to Nepalese peacekeepers, positioned on a tributary of the Artibonite River. Neighboring farmers reported an undeniable stench of human feces coming from the base, to the extent that local Haitians began getting their drinking water upstream from the base.
Before the outbreak, no cases of cholera had been identified in Haiti for more than a century, and the Caribbean region as a whole had not been affected by the cholera outbreak originating in Peru in 1991. The population’s lack of prior exposure and acquired immunity contributed to the severity of the outbreak.
Haiti suffered 819,779 cases of cholera with 9,794 deaths
At this point I don’t know which country is more ridiculous, Israel or North Korea. They’re basically the same, a tiny pariah state barking loud at anyone that looks at them while getting support from a rich neighbor.
They’re the same country but ones wrapepd in religous propaganda and backed but the US and the others wrapped in Leftist propaganda and tolerated by the Chinese.
