Dumbass literally tried to make it happen when he demanded testing slow down.
“When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people, you’re going to find more cases,” Trump said. “So I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please.’ They test and they test.”
I mean…is it? I don’t really get what to be upset about here. If it were really DLC sans game, then yeah, that’d be ridiculous, but if people want to buy these things, why not? And $10 for both seems like a decent price, tbh.
I dunno. I just don’t see it as a big problem, I guess. Just because it has some useless stuff attached doesn’t mean it’s a scam or something, as long as the artbook and music is accessible and are considered worth the price.
Also, looking at the pack, the “dlc” is 4 whole cosmetics. If it’s considered a scam without those, then it should be considered a scam with them.
On the one hand, games have stayed the same price for a long time, well below the rate of inflation.
On the other, wages have also stayed well below inflation for a long time. I don’t expect they’ll see the growth they want when a game purchase takes a larger and larger bite out of someone’s paycheck.
Bill Pruitt, a former producer for The Apprentice whose NDA just expired after 20 years, writes in Slate that Donald Trump used the n-word during the production of the show — and there are tapes of him doing it.
Let’s be honest, no one that still believes that will have this news penetrate their propaganda silos, and what bits do get through will just be ignored or dismissed. They need to believe what they do, and will bend over backwards to justify those beliefs.
Games aren’t ferraris. Get out of here with that. Just because you want the billion dollar games to cost $10 doesn’t mean games are out of reach for everyone. Between free-to-play games and the ocean of indie games available online, gaming has never been more accessible.
The reason older people are gaming is because they’re the first generation to have grown up with games as a thing. 55 year olds were children when the Atari came out. They’ve grown up with it. Why would they stop just because they’re older?

Joe Biden’s campaign is facing a strategic dilemma. Not only are the numbers weird, the games within the series (more than just the main 3) came out as exclusives to a wide variety of platforms. KH has such a bizarre history.

Reactions like this are less than useful. These studies aren’t discovering climate change is bad, they’re investigating its effects and reach, and are the only hope we have to possibly avert, or just lessen, the bleak future ahead of us. Dismissing then with sarcastic comments does a disservice to the people doing this important work.
Today, one day after Microsoft announced that it would shut down four of its games studios, Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, held a town hall to discuss the division’s future goals. “We need smaller games that give us prestige and awards,” Booty told employees, according to internal remarks shared with The Verge....
Here, I’ll translate - “We need an undervalued and underpaid studio that we own to pop out a viral sensation we can exploit the shit out of, who we will then treat exactly the same. Repeat ad nauseam”
I’m not gonna pretend he deserves anyone’s pity or that you should change your opinion here, but acting like 18 is some magic age where someone is suddenly completely responsible and free of childish impulses/problems is ridiculous. Society may need to set an age for accountability in a legal sense, but socially, humans just don’t work that way.
“Bring back”? They already exist. There are an endless number of small devs out there. Most of them don’t have good games, let alone “titles of substance”, so you have to do some work yourself to find the good stuff rather than expecting a constant stream of approved content to just fall in your lap.
It’s hard to get a name that is easily understandable by most people. Appending “-like” to popular/institutional games is useful in that regard. It is nice when a good name is coined, though.
On that note, nothing’s stopping you from making your own suggestions. If everyone just waits for someone else to do it, it’s less likely to happen at all.
When I was younger, palmpilots and blackberrys were the coolest things to me. Something that was basically a computer you could carry in your pocket? I wanted one so bad! And now basically everyone has something even better. Funny how things change.
and the Dev picks sales on Steam, not the publisher.
Do you happen to have a source for this? It was my understanding that the publisher handled all distribution. Hence the name. And if I’m wrong, I’d like to fix my misunderstanding.
Thankfully that’s not how the US works. You don’t just get to deport citizens because you don’t like them. Exiling “undesirables” is what the bad guys do, not the good ones.
I fully believe that particular occurrence was just people blindly voting for the games they recognized. Tbh, I’d be more disappointed if it was a coordinated effort. Highlighting a smaller game that is is great would be exponentially more effective and beneficial than using the awards to complain about a game you don’t enjoy playing. The studios aren’t going to notice, and neither will most people (like me), so it’s really just wasted effort.
Playtime isn’t the only measure of a game’s worth.
This concept seems to be lost on many these days. If a game doesn’t provide gaas-levels of constant content, or have endless “endgame”, it’s considered a rip-off. For me, some of the shortest games I’ve played have been the most impactful and worthwhile.

What kinds of games might you recommend with deep worldbuilding and interaction that aren't RPGs?
I like worldbuilding and stories, and I like when they're mixed with the interactivity of games, so RPGs seem like they should be a natural fit. Problem is, I dislike the stat-heavy, grindy progression of many RPGs.
I enjoy point & click adventures and visual novels but they're often more limited in their interactions. What kinds of game might I be missing combining the two?
That’s interesting. Did you stop early on? I guess if you just know it as a basic shooter it’d be boring, but once you start incorporating powers it really expands a lot, imo.
I wouldn’t say it’s super similar to Mega Man, but Hollow Knight is a fantastic 2D platformer. Very heavy focus on combat, but little-to-no need to delve into stats. The lore is quite deep, but it’s also pretty obscured and vague. Easy to miss on a single playthrough. Dunno if that would be a problem.
