Did the Swiss banks finally stop laundering money for them?

Or have they been running the way war mostly with Chinese loans lately?

nilloc,

Is there an onlyklans? Or is that just the colloquialism for x-twitter now?

nilloc,

And passing laws that would force her to give birth to a rapist’s baby.

nilloc,

I’ve been pushing a “all rich people want undocumented workers because it keeps food and nanny costs down” narrative to my local MAGAts. It’s working a bit. I’ve been doing it for 3-4 years with them, and the other day I walked in and one of them said he didn’t really think the Republicans were serious about immigration. I almost couldn’t believe it.

nilloc,

Because they know that’s what she wants.

nilloc,

I read that in Lovett’s voice in my head.

nilloc,

Source?

I’ve never heard one state one vote. If it was the senate, 2 votes 2 states would make sense, but the House of Representatives never runs on a per state basis that I know of (maybe ratifying the constitution I guess, but that’s not a House only process).

nilloc,

Thanks, TIL, though it’s actually superseded by the 12th amendment as another commenter noted, but contains the same text.

Looks like the Blue states could not show up to the vote and prevent a quorum, which should stop the vote:

in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice-President shall act as President, as in the case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President. [emphasis Wikipedia’s]

So we could end up with a President Harris. If the Dems have the courage to stand up to an attempted highjack of electoral votes by the house.

nilloc,

Thanks, it looks like the blue states might be able to stop it by denying a quorum (2/3rds of states). Unless there 34 red states?

I posted the citation in this comment.

nilloc,

And he’s only going to be capable of experiencing the results for another couple years at most. He’s a few steps away from a walking vegetable.

nilloc,

The woman who was yelling that “Obama [was] an Arab” to McCain should have made it clear how screwed up the electorate was getting. McCains response was appropriate, but useless in the face of his racists voters.

nilloc,

I may be wrong but if Lieberman hadn’t been a senator anymore he probably wouldn’t’ve been beholden to the insurance lobby in CT.

The guys still a price of shit that fucked up a much better health plan though for sure. I lived in MA before and after Romney care, and even that was better than what we ended up with.

nilloc,

No it was really verbal abuse

[Giuliani] said he challenged the lieutenant, James Ayuso, for resisting the woman’s “perfectly reasonable request” and leaving the boy “shivering on the ground” while arguing for 10 minutes before acquiesing.

nilloc,

Yeah we didn’t bother voting in the R primary for the same reason, no least worst candidate. We need to turn more states blue badly.

nilloc,

This is exactly the problem. They’re trying to find a way to dog whistle in a world that’s increasingly aware of their bullshit. They’re running out of frequencies that the rest of us can’t hear.

nilloc,

Lots has been coming out about the pharmacy at the white house during Dolt 45.

Mostly amphetamines and opiates.

“The White House Medical Unit dispensed prescription medications, including controlled substances, to ineligible White House staff,” said the report, which was released this month.

The unit also kept records for Schedule II drugs — such as fentanyl, hydrocodone, morphine and oxycodone — in the same inventory that housed records for other medications, according to the report, even though federal regulations require them to be kept separate.

This is what its like working in childcare. Kids do stuff like this all the time.

@196

nilloc,

Damn.

My 6yo mentioned the war in Ukraine out of the blue the other day, we found out he’s been watching the evening news with his grandpa though.

His buddies at school are Minecraft and Spider-Man obsessed. He’s all about Lego Star Wars so it’s going ok all things considered. Still a bit more violent than the early preschool days.

nilloc,

Yeah perspective is way off on the top.

nilloc,

Yeah it’s because our country’s gun problem is so out of control that our schools need bunkers and since the cops are too scared to go in, they need to be prepared to stay locked down long enough to need to piss in cat litter.

This is what I said to the last right winger I hear parroting the cat litter bullshit. He changed to complaining about Hunter in the next breath.

nilloc,

I live in the frozen wasteland. If he’s to the REI for some warm gear. Turn off the heat and let the snakes go lethargic.

Then return the clothes the next day.

nilloc,

it put me off buying one. I’m probably not the only one.

nilloc,

While debatable that it’s really nut butter (hazelnut), not even Nutella?

nilloc,

Some sure, but they’re in the 15-25% there, not the 40-45% like in the US.

nilloc,

The Morse code of programming languages.

nilloc,

Hadn’t heard the Larry Sinclair thing. EX-Twitter really is an irrelevant shithole.

nilloc,

Thanks, I didn’t know the whole story, I just piled it on the stack of failed-ish 90s OS attempts with OS2, BeOS, NeXT and probably a couple I’m forgetting.

nilloc,

I don’t have this side. If I want to see the whole store I’ll use one of those employee-only ladders.

nilloc,

Pixelmator, Sketch and Affinity apps on MacOS has been my replacement for pirated Adobe products for a long time now. Pixelmator is like $30 one time and really fast with non destructive color correction and Mac shortcuts. None of the terrible GIMP UI.

nilloc,

If it’s in the US, he’s got a long month ahead of him.

nilloc,

Best of can definitely include curation. Thanks for share this post.

nilloc,

My son just turned 6 and I was thinking of looking at the game (my sone really likes actual Lego, and his buddies are into Minecraft and Roblox), but another parent at a bday party a few weeks back asked if we played, and then warned my that I needed to keep a close eye on it, because the suggested games algo was pushing really sketch things to his daughter.

So I started looking and decided the shopping aspect was something I didn’t want to expose him to yet. But these revelations are making me glad we haven’t yet used it and never will.

nilloc,

I know this wasn’t the main point of your comment, but to be grammatically correct, it would be “the maths math.”

Plural verbs go with their plural noun subject and don’t need the s:

  • This book belongs on the shelf.
  • These books belong on the shelf.

And like you said, maths being short for mathematics means it’s plural.

nilloc,

rich donors want it complex so they can keep finding the loop holes that let them pay nothing most years.

nilloc,

I just checked, and Chatroulette is only a few months younger than Omeagle. I’d heard and tried Chatroulette years before I found out about Omeagle, and always thought Omeagle was the clone.

CR is supposedly still up, but I haven’t checked because I’m not ready to see those wangs.

nilloc,

Still a bite the hands that feed them proposition. Unless there are anti-trust laws forcing the RIAA members to sell on all platforms, they could pull songs from any one service, and seriously damage the user base.

nilloc,

Selling dreams to VCs has long been the game, but VCs started getting dumber and greedier as all the low hanging opportunities were used up. So tech startups had to make sillier and sillier claims and business plans to keep raking in VC dough.

Subscriptions have been big VC keywords for the last 7-8 years, as data harvesting started to be monopolized by a few big owners. Ads are trying to make a comeback as subscription fatigue sets in, which is why blockers are being targeted lately.

I’m not looking forward to the next method of extracting wealth from the masses in trade for VC investment. Probably another form of slavery or subjugation they haven’t found a way to hide yet.
