s_s,

You don’t need to add or multiply time very often. Division is super important tho, and base60 is better than base10 for that.

s_s,

Just see the commercials on newsmax.

They’re not broadcasting to the healthiest.

s_s,

Carls Jr Microsoft Windows. Fuck you, I’m eating!

s_s,

Missing asking chat if they can believe he has friends.

s_s,

I did this once and found a dog bench seat cover branded by Chris Kyle (the American Sniper guy).

s_s,

What’s your favorite dinosaur? How many could you fight off at once?

s_s,

If you live in a tipping culture and can’t afford to tip, then you can’t afford to eat somewhere with a waitress.

s_s,

this is the reverse of “if you can’t afford a job that pays you find another job”.

Not even close.

Most restaurants are chains and owned by a small handful of corporations and mega-franchisees. Their shareholders make a lot of money.

Most small businesses (restaurants or otherwise) go broke because they are undercapitalized or otherwise mismanaged.

It takes money to make money.

And If you want to make the jump from wage earner to small business owner, making higher wages helps a lot.

Higher wages means the next generation of small businesses are more successful. More successful small businesses create more competition and keep prices lower for consumers.

s_s,

Dimetrodon is my favorite dinosaur.

s_s,

Tetrapod animals (those with four limbs) are all thought to be related.

This group includes two main divisions amniotes and non-amniotes. Amniotes produce young in eggs with four distinct layers (one of which is the Amnion) which makes them well-adapted for surviving on land. Frogs and Salamanders are examples of non-amniote tetrapods.

Amniotes are a large group which are divided into groups based on the number of openings in their skulls near the temples. The two surviving groups in today’s animals are synapsid (one pair of openings) which includes all mammals. And diapsids (two openings) which includes all modern reptiles and birds.

The Mesazoic Era (the age of the Dinosaurs) was 250 million years ago (Ma) to 65 Ma.

Dimetrodon was a synapsid that lived about 295 Ma. So it’s not really in the right evolutionary family to be a dinosaur, and it lived long before dinosaurs.

It superficially resembles a large lizard (but in reality it’s a closer relative to mammals than any true dinosaur).

s_s,

turns Africa into a separate island from Europe

You know where Asia is, right? Like the Roman province–real Asia?

Everything east of “Asia” is also Asia.

s_s,

I still can’t believe twitter made Donald Trump a Potus. It has to be one of the wildest stories in our country’s history.

Dark Roasted coffee is the only way Starbucks can be Starbucks.

Lighter-roasted coffee emphasizes origin flavors and i agree with you --generally tastes better and is more interesting.

But you can’t sell coffee like that in tens of thousands of coffee shops and have it remotely consistent.

Coffee growing from the same plot but on one side of a hill will taste different from the other side due to getting different quantities of sunlight. Complex origin flavors will always be the domain of small specialty coffee shops.

Starbucks has McDonalds-like consistency serving millions of customers a day and that’s only because they emphasize the flavors they can get consistently–roast flavors.

TL;DR The bigger the chain, the darker you have to roast. That’s just how coffee works.

s_s,

To add to all this, if most of your customers are seriously there to taste their flavored syrups and milk of their favorite drink, you wouldn’t want to alter or even ruin that with unexpected, unique coffee flavors.

s_s,

Plenty of independent coffee shops sell Lotus energy drinks for this exact reason.

Games that require you to unlock the basic functions of the game can suck my nuts.

I have recently played 3 games that have forced a lengthy, unskippable tutorial section that runs for several hours of the game, just to unlock the most basic functions like buying the items, customizing features, multiplayer, and even 2-player split screen modes....

s_s,

Speedrunning SM64 is fun, but first we need to talk about parallel universes…

s_s,

Steam is a store.

Why would they try and sell you someone else’s goods?

LMAO.

s_s,

Electric cars are still a 3 ton object you’ll needlessly try to dispose of in 5 years.

Electric cars are here to save the car companies, not the environment.
