What Are the Best Ideas for Using LineageOS with Root and microG? (github.com)

I have OnePlus 7 Pro that I successfully flashed with LineageOS 21 with MicroG. Do you have some interesting apps or ideas to take advantage of it? I thought of some Magisk modules. Maybe someone is more experience than me! This is the spare smartphone, the main one is GrapheneOS, so I don’t mind breaking stuff.

I think you can stay anonymous (as in your threat model) on Lemmy as long as you use a VPN and keep your style of speech different than your “real” one

Idk if anyone had a similar problem before, but I live in EU by the countryside, at first there were only a few but now it happens more and more often to see drones passing over my house, I am sure they are civilian drones because law enforcement has no reason to use them since the area is quiet (and honestly I doubt they would...

I think you have the legal right to prohibit flying above your property. Do it, make a sign and report everyone who violates it to the police. Flying on someone’s property with a camera drone is illegal anyways.

EDIT: Also check if you legally can physically eliminate the drone in that case. It’s the most effective strategy.

Hmm it isn’t the first reply that says it so I guess airspace isn’t owned by the property owner in the EU. Very unfortunate but not that big of a deal. I hope at least shooting down a camera drone can be considered self defense there.

I meant slower in terms of any rendering (web, 3D or anything else). And I’m only used to graphical DEs. I installed Arch via archinstall a few times and had a minimal Debian server with nothing except ssh working but that’s about it

You need to use the official way of unlocking (official Windows app and phone number). There are no other ways of unlocking I’m familiar with. I believe in the past you could unlock it via EDL testpoint but now it somehow only makes the device think it’s unlocked but you still can’t install anything. Buy a Pixel for easy unlocking.

But that’s what GrapheneOS uses afaik. The person I replied to said that LineageOS (a fully vanilla ROM) with root (which breaks banking apps) is a better solution. I agree but I added that the mentioned solution is really not for most people.

Energy usage of AI models is at least 100x higher than other ways of doing most of the tasks (such as calculations and searches), hallucinations will never disappear and enforcement means inability to disable the AI or use most of the features with it being disabled

Well if the AI is optional and isn’t the only preinstalled way of doing a certain task, I don’t mind it. Efficiency is still much worse though
