I don’t really understand the hype behind helldivers. To my eye, borderlands is essentially the same game but with greater variety, fewer hiccups, and a lower price.

I mean, more midnight club vs need for speed but I take your meaning. And yes, aside from the stories and one having significantly more content, they’re essentially the same game. I’d have said battlefront 2, but I don’t respect the remake and fishing out multiple ps2s to play online is preposterous.

Somehow, I’d never envisioned North Koreans surreptitiously performing remote work until today. Visibly offering prisoners as destructible laborers? Absolutely. Animation studio corrections? Way out of left field. WB cutting ties in January with the studio likely responsible for subcontracting to NK does seem a bit suspect, though.

Dunno whether this counts (free full game, no DLC, 10+ years old) but I’m loving battle for wesnoth. Some dialogue is stunted but it’s among the best hex grid strategy games I’ve played.

I knew about its initial release but had no clue whether it was the same team or an offshoot so I settled for a safe 10 years.

I recommend picking it back up if you enjoyed the campaigns. It’s just recently reached a third renaissance with an abundance of new fan content. No clue why.

It tends not to dawdle and is open to customization. Want a map? Make it. Want a unit? Make it. If you really want to get obsessive about any aspect then the option is available. Top it off with surprisingly nice art, a good community, and a sprinkle of nostalgia and you get a spicy pizza pie.

How to revitalize this sub?

I love the original patientgamers subreddit so I was stoked to find this community. And because lemmy seems to have a more knowledgeable crowd any topic I posted here had great engagement and discussions, despite the small community. I am too busy to be a mod but maybe I can help by sparking this discussion: what would be needed...

I feel it’s used too rarely on Lemmy, leading to the slow propagation of information and few people using the unique features that make the lemmyverse navigable. I’d never manage to reach the communities I’m searching for if not for easy linking.

Will edit it in when I find more but this is Lemmy’s markdown tutorial. It covers a few items uniqueish to lemmy, especially cool are magnet links, but I’m not sure where they keep info about other unique features. Offhandedly, the only other thing I can think of is linking to profiles with @Gullible. (This does ping the user, btw)

Edit: I got nothing, it’s impossible to find and/or doesn’t exist. No other option. But if someone else finds it, a link would be helpful.

The one thing that I appreciate about twitter’s interface is how transient its information is. Final fantasy without a barrage of mini games isn’t final fantasy. It looks good, though the combat is a bit too slow for my taste.

There’s only so much time in the day and devoting much time to poorly designed games is silly. Finding a time tested production from 5+ years ago that plays as well or better than recent games is a minority decision but an objectively reasonable one. Cheaper and assured quality? Yes, please! It’s always nice to find someone likeminded.
