PixxlMan,

Not a single soul wants this. They just want to use every foul trick to get you to use copilot (by accident even) just like they do with bing and their other garbage.

PixxlMan,

I think Valve are much more open to late refunds when developers do something unpopular to a game, such as this

PixxlMan,

Windows famously never generates any garbage files. It’s so reliable all servers run windows. Right?

PixxlMan,

I think it’s good, although the situation does seem to be somewhat dysfunctional on the game front. They’ve made literally dozens of projects, some near completion, all abandoned for one reason or another. I think this video does a good job of demonstrating it. It summaries a digital book called “Half Life Alyx: The final hours” written by a valve employee. Here: youtu.be/mHdrosltGJA?si=9TodoaYu95HMtRqf

PixxlMan,

One frame is probably in the context of the screen, not the framerate of the games. (The deck doesn’t have variable refreshrate so the screen will always use the same underlying framerate)

PixxlMan,

If the game is huge enough no one will have space to play anything else…

PixxlMan,

Presumably they could never afford to port to mobile themselves, without cooperating with Netflix. Since you don’t want to pay for a Netflix subscription… You’re not missing out on anything. It wouldn’t have existed if not for Netflix.

PixxlMan,

You’re just making stuff up.

They were perfectly capable of realising it with a fair price like everyone else

Says who? Do you know if the Devs can afford that or whether the mobile market is even likely to be profitable for them without help from netflix?

PixxlMan,

The devilish act of… Reusing a perfectly workable engine and forgetting a piece of text?

PixxlMan,

Theres no reason they’d offer this as a free DLC as opposed to just including it in the game as an update though if they didn’t want to charge for it

PixxlMan,

Stuff like that is awesome, really brings the world to life

PixxlMan,

By that logic buying a better pc is cheating because it gives you an advantage. We need some nuance here. All modifications to game files are not cheating, (even if not allowed in any case), because well, not all modifications are cheats. This is a great example actually, because AMD sanctioned, graphics card driver latency reduction isn’t a cheat. Obviously the way it was implemented was clearly very problematic and should’ve never been greenlit.

However, this isn’t an unintentional cheat and detecting it as such is incorrect. It is, however, a modification and those are reasonably disallowed, it is totally fair to disallow that.

PixxlMan,

CS2 is CS:GO 👍

PixxlMan,

A poorly optimized game will not put your pc to the limit. Instead it will bottleneck itself on stupid issues and inefficiencies. Your pc will actually not be utilised to its full potential. Make no mistake, this game isn’t slow because it’s gorgeous and advanced, it’s slow because graphically it’s poorly made.

PixxlMan,

The worst thing is when people who have absolutely no clue about game development believe advertisements and hype and get really opinionated about stuff they know nothing about, such as engines, tech or techniques.

PixxlMan,

To be fair - people don’t know what they want until they get it. In 2005 people would’ve asked for faster flip phones, not smartphones.

I don’t have much faith in current gen AI assistants actually being useful though, but the fact that no one has asked for it doesn’t necessarily mean much.

PixxlMan,

Same story for me. I’ve heard it’s incredible so I guess I’ll have to try again sometime though. The start was just incredibly dull
