bibliotectress,

It’s an old-fashioned thing to do. When my cousin got married, my aunt gave her a lot of shit for not doing it, so when I got married, I did it, but I don’t know many people my age who have. I’m 39, also born and raised in Chicago (where my aunt and cousin still live), but I’m in California now. My family also has a bit of money (not a ton, but they’ve always had a decent living) and “family name” type pride, so I’m not sure if that’s a factor.

bibliotectress,

That’s even more complicated than I thought it was. I’m not happy about it either, but I’m also not a protest voter, so I’d have voted for Biden either way.

bibliotectress,

Thank you!!! I was just about to comment and ask for a reminder on how we can view paywalled articles on mobile, and then I saw your link. :)

bibliotectress,

Wait, why was there a flag at your job site that you needed to stand and salute? That doesn’t add up. Maybe we work in different Californias.

bibliotectress,

I tried to read this, but it looks like it’s paywalled.

bibliotectress,

I can’t remember if I played this first, or Tetris. It was probably pretty close for me?

bibliotectress,

That game is impossible. I can’t believe how many people in the comments say they’ve beaten it. I never beat it as a kid, and when I tried it again on the switch a couple of years ago, I still couldn’t make it very far.
