brbposting,

What’s the best tool for making beautiful art like this?

meme lord rule (sh.itjust.works)

alt-textMicah Follow @rincewind.run the six year old, watching basketball: “is this live?” “yes” “aw, I was hoping it wasn’t so we can skip the commercials” something interesting about raising kids whose main experience of TV is streaming is that they have absolutely no patience for ads May 17, 2024 at 6:22 PM 6...

brbposting,

Taping a movies on VHS and trying to not record the commercials so you end up with a few seconds of old commercials and a few seconds missing from the start of each segment :)

brbposting,

Oh that’s fun, you made me realize there’s potentially somewhat of a class divide when it comes to advertising exposure.

Budget TV w/built in Roku & OTA but no subscriptions = 100% ads

Paid subscriptions or the tech knowledge to block ads / sail = no ads except billboards and limited other sources

brbposting,

The advertisers are afraid of me… I have seen their true face. The channels are extended gutters, and the gutters are full of blood, and when the drains finally scab over, all the marketers will drown. The accumulated filth of all their spamming and selling will foam up about their waists, and all the influencers and executives will look up and shout “Record us!”… and I’ll look down and whisper “No.”

brbposting,

Super interesting (if sad) kinda control group, glad you mentioned that

brbposting,

Why would anybody test that first in QA anyway?

brbposting,

You’re right about that in many cases.

That post? It two sentences.

Second sentence is a joke that couldn’t be taken seriously. As if it were a knock knock joke or something. …right?!

brbposting,

Wow, guess you’re right! Thanks for the insight :)

brbposting,

Assume they work perfectly:

I ain’t gonna hang pollution that’s effective because it’s polluting

brbposting,

Agreed, imagine what it would cost custom (though not necessarily DIY) or from a medical device manufacturer (shudder).

brbposting,

@homesweethomeMrL mind fixing the problematic title?

Purpose: properly messaging the idiocy of the twice-impeached president

brbposting,

Suppose there’s reason to reasonably disagree here.

Acceptable to me:

Tr_mp’s $60 Bible & Constitution omits amendments , including ending slavery and allowing women to vote

or

Tr_mp’s $60 Bible & Constitution omits the amendments (e.g. ending slavery**,** allowing women to vote**)**

maybe switch it up

Ending slavery? Women’s right to vote? Nope, no Bill of Rights in the Tr_mp Bible & Constitution

I immediately assumed 45 had excluded two amendments. When you see a group of 45 haters like Lemmy call a “45 sucks” post clickbait, there’s cause for re-evaluation - though I can accept you being technically correct, on the very edge of it. Knowingly potentially misleading (as of now) but with proper good intent. Cheers for getting back to me :)

brbposting,

Are there really people who don’t have authentic paw casts for this?

Mounted four of mine on one of these:

Hat tip

Coming to terms with no longer having privacy and control over my technology

I miss the days of VHS and DVD shelfs in homes, for example. If you bought the tapes and had them in your home, no corporate entity could alter those tapes without your consent, monitor how many times you watch them, sell your data to whomever they please without your knowledge, roll out new mandatory conditions to a ‘user...

brbposting,

Sometimes new underlings spawn but good point

brbposting,

“How many of you own a power drill?” Rachel Botsman, the author of the book The Rise Of Collaborative Consumption, asked the audience at TedxSydney in 2010. Predictably, nearly everyone raised his or her hand. “That power drill will be used around 12 to 15 minutes in its entire lifetime,” Botsman continued with mock exasperation. “It’s kind of ridiculous, isn’t it? Because what you need is the hole, not the drill.”

brbposting,

Think circumstances, achievements, influence. About their status, wealth, talents, impact.

Basic human functions: “normal” (except for the maid cleaning their skid marks off the bowl, the million thread count pillowcase).

Almost anything else: distinctly unique. When he gets sad or injured, his care’s different. When he fights with his wife, their opportunities for mediation are different. His most basic human needs can be met lavishly. He is capable of having needs we can only dream of.

The fact a billionaire poops is kinda the least interesting or perhaps relevant thing I can think of, but maybe I’m missing a part of the perspective.

money is the end goal

That’s right, it seems the awkwardness extends to managing his billions. (Wouldn’t us normal people lobby our politicians to increase our tax rates? And take a tiny bit of the plentiful amount left over to buy the most comfortable, if not the nicest and fastest, car available?)

1 more charisma point

I’ll have to go in on that to make it double.

Zuck: a seemingly good guy operating a company that’s often bad for America and bad for the world

Elmo: an enormous jerk somehow still operating multiple companies that, best case scenario, could be great for the world

Eyeball licker is a clear winner!
