brbposting,

Assume they’d let ask you to have staff let you in every time, same as someone whose battery died. Pretty soon they’d recognize you and quickly buzz/wave you along, I figure.

brbposting,

Weed, CA leans into their name with all kinds of gift merchandise like that. Why not Dildo?

brbposting,

Immersion is so important

brbposting,

Does it hurt more that we’re talking about a language where immersion would require living on a fantasy spaceship or a planet that doesn’t exist?

Unless you grew up in the household where that dad only spoke Klingon his kid. Which was not very nice of him 😬

brbposting,

:D one day, when we’re maxing out a Holodeck’s capabilities together Squid (e.g. using them to browse Lemmy), it won’t be a joke no more

brbposting,

Can confirm.

That’s great, thanks for sharing

Bet those two words can significantly increase sales for some products. Encourages and gives permission for someone to show up with the thing at a party.

-my observation the last time I saw it on a bag of chocolate

brbposting,

Is this bigger on Lemmy than it is in the queer community or is it an in thing IRL right now?

brbposting,

I hope he’s treated well in prison. Especially if courts determine it’s best for society if he spends a lifetime there.

Just realized a part of that is for the workers there. If I were a guard I’d feel best about my job knowing it’s the most ethical prison it can be. If prison rape (if that’s what you were getting at) isn’t the sentence, then it shouldn’t happen. (If it’s the sentence, oh my.)

brbposting,

IDK why I’m sticking up for a dead stranger this early but… is this kinda unfair cuz it’s just ageism? Dude might’ve been a saint or Hitler. (No, nothing in between!)

If you’re good at reading faces I have to take back the ageism accusation :)

brbposting,

The Access Hollywood clip that, amongst other things, certainly swung the election. That’s what the history books should say so these past years aren’t all so embarrassing.

brbposting,

He knows more than the generals

and all of those people of course.

brbposting,

I wonder how much junk economic activity was created just because a device didn’t support the latest version of HDCP.

Sad a pretty stock iPhone that’s blocking via some filterlists and using iCloud Private Relay (a “VPN”) is so detectable! Should be so many browsers appearing similar but there’s always this & that that mean I’m unique.

brbposting,

Isn’t it disappointing :(

Glad you didn’t use Apple’s select all & copy with this font:

Without the Oxford

(Typically their OCR is great though.)

Not with that attitude!

Recovering addicts - aight

COVID conspiracies - noooo

Now, question: why don’t need articles come up about RFK’s 2000s-era cocaine sale charges?

In Western anthropology, philosophy, and literature, the noble savage is a stock character who is uncorrupted by civilization. As such, the noble savage symbolizes the innate goodness and moral superiority of a primitive people living in harmony with Nature.

If that’s illuminating for anyone, curious to hear your thoughts.

Aha!

Based on a quick reverse image search, believe it was just made for the meme. Probably AI generated. Note the steps kinda phasing into the fuselage.

brbposting,

Like they always say

Not the size of the fuselage

It’s how you use the thrust vector

brbposting,

Amazing

give up 5 out of 7 days of their life to sustain a moderate quality of life

Darn tootin’, we need Universal Basic Income!

I will say some people in some industries can give up 40hr/wk of their lives from their laptops at home and sustain a phenomenal quality of life. That should def be a choice available to those who care to make it. (And the privileges necessary to be qualified to work those jobs should be afforded to all, of course.*)

*not sure how this sentiment would survive a truly level global playing field with 8bil equal competitors, but don’t wanna be too domestically biased

Torx is a trademark for a type of screw drive characterized by a 6-point star-shaped pattern, developed in 1967 by Camcar Textron. A popular generic name for the drive is star, as in star screwdriver or star bits. The official generic name, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization as ISO 10664, is hexalobular internal. This is sometimes abbreviated in databases and catalogs as 6lobe (starting with the numeral 6, not the capital letter G). Torx Plus, Torx Paralobe and Torx ttap are improved head profiles.

6alobular brah 🤙

How’d I end up with great family on both sides?! Is this rare :o

brbposting,

Concern for one’s legacy is entirely understandable.

But the weirdest point to get sentimental about rotting meat for the first time is after you’re dead.

brbposting,

Really glad it made your life better and it def seems very safe by medical and popular standards.

I’m a scaredy cat, myself:

A tiny little fraction of guys experience chronic pain, then a fraction of those still experience pain after reversal.

Same as LASIK (small percentage experience dry eyes for the rest of their lives): I couldn’t live with myself if it went south and I didn’t NEED it in the first place.

But great for many use cases!
