leftzero,

The Bethesda that made Morrowind. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

leftzero,

I will always cherish my bones, too. They give me support.

leftzero,

Does this show as a gif for anyone else? Iā€™m using sync and that just shows a static picture unless I click on it.

Paused (but playable) video on Connect for Lemmy.

leftzero,

There are parts of the story and maps we simply canā€™t get to because they arenā€™t there yet (I imagine about 30 to 50%), and thereā€™s a limit to how much we can improve our relationship with the various characters (which means that thereā€™s probably a significant amount of voice acting we canā€™t hear yet), all of this clearly indicated as provisionally cut content (ā€œyou might be able to do this in the futureā€, ā€œcanā€™t go there yetā€, ā€œwhat happened after this is, for now, literally indescribableā€, that kind of thing).

Thereā€™s also whatā€™s clearly provisional concept art from time to time, and plenty of placeholder character models and art (plus keepsakes, and fish, the later even having generic descriptions), and thereā€™s almost certainly missing gods and characters (though thereā€™s no indication of which those might be and in which number).

So, yeah, itā€™s not complete, by a long shot.

That said, Iā€™m fairly certain that thereā€™s already as much content and story as in the complete first game, if not more, or at least it feels like it. And itā€™s just as fun.

leftzero,

Several characters, all keepsakes, all fish except, I think, one, at least one background elementā€¦

The voice acting is all there

Iā€™d be very surprised if the number of voiced characters isnā€™t significantly higher in the finished game. And, of course, weā€™re missing the top end of the relationship interactions with all characters, which will definitely be voice acted.

the mechanics are all there

I wouldnā€™t be surprised if we get some new mini games in certain parts of the map we canā€™t access yet.

Apart from these minor nitpickings, however, I completely agree (well, except that I havenā€™t had any crashes or significant bugs); Iā€™m already enjoying the game as much as the first one, and I definitely feel I got my moneyā€™s worth, which is sadly quite unusual for too many supposedly complete games these days.

Why do people hate people? - A question by 'curious kid' Daisy, age 9, Lake Oswego, Oregon (theconversation.com)

Understanding hate as an emotional response can help you recognize your feelings about something or someone and be curious about where those feelings are coming from. This awareness will give you time to gather more information and imagine the other personā€™s perspective....

leftzero,

Iā€™ve met enough of them! Peopleā€¦ what a bunch of bastards!

leftzero,

Fucking weirdos. SR 71ā€™s where itā€™s at.

leftzero,

ā€œBut the plans were on displayā€¦ā€

ā€œOn display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.ā€

ā€œThatā€™s the display department.ā€

ā€œWith a flashlight.ā€

ā€œAh, well, the lights had probably gone.ā€

ā€œSo had the stairs.ā€

ā€œBut look, you found the notice, didnā€™t you?ā€

ā€œYes,ā€ said Arthur, ā€œyes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ā€˜Beware of the Leopard.

leftzero,

faithful adaptation

Cue Shady Sands controversy.

Itā€™s a good adaptation, but not necessarily a faithful one (though, frankly, Iā€™m not deep enough into the lore to tell, or care).

Looks like New Vegas might show up in season two, so weā€™ll see if and how they make the timelines fit (though if they do itā€™ll have to be a pretty tight fit, seems like).

leftzero,

pretty dumb, cheesy, and flat out badly written at times

So, a great adaptation of the Fallout setting, then. šŸ‘

Original Fallout lead Tim Cain loves the new show, but remains baffled by how 'destructive' fans can act toward 'people who are trying to create things' (www.pcgamer.com)

Cain appreciated the performances and storytelling, but singled out how the show nailed the Fallout ā€œvibeā€ as its biggest achievement. ā€œI was just looking at all the props,ā€ he said of one scene. ā€œI realized after a few minutes went by that I had not followed the dialogue at all, because I was so engrossed by it...

leftzero,

rivalry between Fallout entries developed by Bethesda (3, 4, and 76), and those from Interplay, Black Isle, and Obsidian (1, 2, and New Vegas)

Why canā€™t we all be friends and gang up together on fans of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steelā€¦?

leftzero, (edited )

Horse armour.

And, well, mostly everything after that.

leftzero,

UE has evolved and changed over time to use new hardware features and adapt to new player needs.

Gamebryo is still the exact same engine that ran Morrowind, just running worse games on faster hardware with more memory. It even still has some of the same bugs, which community patch mods have had to fix for every single game (except Starfield, because thatā€™s become such a clusterfuck of bugs and poor design that even the most dedicated modders have given up).

leftzero,

Itā€™s all projection with these guys.

leftzero,

One of the drugā€™s main ingredients is human bones

Do you want prions? Because thatā€™s how you get prions.

leftzero,

Damn, things must be getting pretty bleak if even birds are striking and weā€™re using headless robot dogs to union-bust themā€¦!

leftzero,

Eh, kidsā€™ futureā€™s fucked anyway due to global warming and rampant enshittification, might as well sacrifice whatā€™s left of it for the greater good. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

leftzero,

Sure, but at least tar and feather them first.

leftzero,

Sadly, prions are terrifying, so eating the rich is not a practical possibility.

Now, feeding them alive to the big cats at the zoo, on the other hand, would serve the same purpose, and entertain the kitties to boot, which the brain control parasites my kittens have infected me with tell me is a good thing, and since we donā€™t eat them or anything that eats them thereā€™s no risk of prion spread, at least until deer chronic wasting disease inevitably spreads to humans and kills us all.

leftzero,

To anyone whoā€™s played the games itā€™s very evidently exactly the same engine used in Morrowind, running on faster hardware and with less functionality due to it being unable to handle the higher quality graphics. (Morrowind had mostly open cities - except for Vivec - and flying, for instance; later games had to sacrifice those and add more and more loading screensā€¦)

leftzero,

If I recall correctly you meet a guy who did that with agility (or was it acrobatics?) just after leaving Seyda Neen. It didnā€™t end well for him.

(Also, I havenā€™t played that damn game in probably over two decades; how the fuck do I still remember that townā€™s nameā€¦? How the fuck do I still remember Fargothā€¦!?)

leftzero,

3; 2 didnā€™t have body models, only 2D faces (and event artwork, but there was no nudity in that).

3 has full 3D body models, which are used for events, court, and so on, and itā€™s not unusual to encounter characters (often your own) who prefer to be in the buff, for religious or cultural reasons or due to specific events, traits, or bugs.

leftzero, (edited )

No itā€™s not.

I mean, maybe itā€™s trying, I donā€™t know, but Iā€™m not even trying to keep ublock origin up to date (maybe it updates itself in the background?) and I havenā€™t noticed any difference (or ads) other than the normal progressive enshittification of both platform and channels, and Iā€™m pretty certain I live in the worldā€¦ EDIT: And before anyone asks, I am logged in, I mostly use YouTube through the subscriptions page, so being logged in doesnā€™t seem to be causing any problems for me either.
