somethingsnappy,

I’ve been to Beijing, Hangzhou, suzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, kunming, Xian, Qingdao, chongching, Jinan, Wuhan, yinchuan, and many minor cities. It’s an extremely stupid sterotype/oversimplification. If you want to check that easily, look at the geography of the major cities. Or, if more interested, look at city maps.

somethingsnappy,

You’ve sunk my battleship. In more ways than one.

somethingsnappy,

Joke all you want, but I had a two year old in a high chair that ate my entire take out bowl of very hot penang thai curry. Diapers weren’t fun for the next day, but he did it.

somethingsnappy,

He just kept at like it was no big deal. He sweated and teared up, but ate the whole damn thing.

somethingsnappy,

EXCESS body fat? They would both be ripped and the enemy would just eat some cheeseburgers.

somethingsnappy,

Driving to Ohio instead of driving west is confusing on so many levels.

somethingsnappy,

Either whole thing is going over my head, or you hate satire.

somethingsnappy,

You are now a moderator of /crediblefdfense

somethingsnappy,

Oh, it’s you. Carry on, nobody is listening.

somethingsnappy, (edited )

Having been to Kowloon 20 years ago, It sure seemed like every 5.5 acres housed way more than 30k people.

somethingsnappy,

Uh, Kowloon is still there, just not the walled city. Kowloon city is 400,000 people per square km.

somethingsnappy,

No worries. The walled city without a government must have been hell on earth. The Sim City-like giant blocks that were each basically a city when I was there were were crazy enough.

somethingsnappy,

Pwn, pwned was so specific to gaming it shouldn’t even be on the list.

somethingsnappy,

Not to be yelling at kids to get off my lawn, but gnarly was at least a decade before rad. Also, epic is nearly 2 decades later.

somethingsnappy,

That isn’t urban then. No mention of mail in either?

somethingsnappy,

No, it’s a rouge. Nice tints on the cheeks.

somethingsnappy,

Hey, that game was made by a few people where I went to college.

somethingsnappy,

My teeth make pretty good retainers. It seems like a weird nostalgia thing. There must be far more pop consumed in a bottle than in a fast food cup, and I’ve never seen anyone put a straw in a bottle (except on tv).

somethingsnappy,

It was sold as reducing cavities, but really just for money.

somethingsnappy,

That’s true in my experience in SEA too, but it felt like a status thing.

somethingsnappy,

The most marketable person on the planet is dating a dude on the chiefs. She recently asked people in the US to vote. That is bad for Republicans (regressives). Now the idiots say she is working for the “deep state.” You can’t use logic to change someone that believes themselves into it.

somethingsnappy,

I have two boys that will soon be giants. I’m working on my rice and beans skills.

somethingsnappy,

Nope. The mask only works for one hour. It takes 30 seconds to fall asleep. So you can never get the hour it takes to be fully rested.

somethingsnappy,

Battle toads can eat a schlong. Actually good games like kid icarus, etc were just as hard but actually fun to play.

somethingsnappy,

In a way, I understand. There are no rules. I do think there is a good chance that living out that idea in any or every aspect of life can be very damaging. My motto is everything in moderation, including moderation.

somethingsnappy,

No. There is just no way it is the last copy so often. Also, there is no reason to do that. Laminate a card with all the box info. Keep unboxed, sealed copies behind the counter. Voila! With about 5 minutes of work I’ve just solved the entire problem!

somethingsnappy,

And now I will be browsing through 7000 retro games today.

Even China's 1.4 billion population can't fill all its vacant homes, former official says (www.reuters.com)

Even China’s population of 1.4 billion would not be enough to fill all the empty apartments littered across the country, a former official said on Saturday, in a rare public critique of the country’s crisis-hit property market....

somethingsnappy,

UBI and robust social safety nets should have started with the industrial revolution. Every time a machine, computer, or now robots, UBI should have increased and been given to more people.

Commando: A Home Port Comparison (i.imgur.com)

Commando (released as Senjō no Ōkami in Japan, Wolf of the Battlefield) is a 1985 Capcom arcade shooter. Word to the wise: Commando isn’t based on the Schwarzenegger movie of the same name - that’s some false knowledge I’ve carried round with me for close to forty years… oh, how I’ve embarrassed myself at dinner...

somethingsnappy,

Haven’t thought about this great game in decades. Adding to list of games to play again.

somethingsnappy,

Terraria, though similar release date? Highly recommend the don’t starve series a few years later. It’s quite different as far as game play though.
