ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

Well I do agree it’ll be useful for people who need it, but for most people it’s pretty pointless and I hope at least they don’t enable it by default just like Windoze sticky key because ai use a lot of system resources for a little benefits especially with self hosted ai

Remote desktop for Wayland?

I only just switched to Linux last month that time I don’t know what Wayland or X11 is and I just use Linux like normal without knowing I’m using Wayland (KDE), now since I’m already configured my KDE desktop on Wayland and I don’t wanna do it again, so I’m looking for a remote desktop that work under Wayland not...

My friend didn't have a great experience with Linux

I have been daily driving Linux for over two years now and I have switched distros many times. So, when my friend bought a new laptop, I convinced him to install Linux Mint on it. I asked him if he wanted to dual boot, he said no because it would fill up all his storage. We installed Linux Mint. The other day, he wanted to play...

Maybe your friend have Nvidia GPU? I only just switched over to Linux and I managed to get all of my games working without any hassle with the help of Wine Proton and Lutris, maybe try to run games in steam launcher? I have better with it

@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

WinRAR -s, honestly I haven’t paid for anything since I switched to Linux because everything is open source or freemium not that I paid for anything when I use windows anyway I quacked almost everything but I did bought Terraria and Half Life series

Not just loading bar it’s everything about the aesthetic in the menu, logo on the top, installation steps on the side and loading bar on the middle just enough to fill the screen while not being too crowded or overwhelming

ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

I can’t express how much I hate phone call, if you want to talk we can talk in person if it too far away we can send messages

ColdWater,

VM suggestion for gaming?

Welp, it’s finally happened. Windows 10 has become so bloated, slow, and spooky that I finally have decided to bite the bullet and set up a VM on my linux Mint partition. Do you have any suggestions for a virtual machine? My PC is a relatively basic mid-range business laptop, 8gb of ram, no GPU, only a few years old. I’m a...

ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

Don’t bother, VM or wine/proton is not good in term of performance if you don’t have a good hardware (expect 50-80% fps loss), your best option is to dualboot and use Linux for everything except gaming that should free up resources for games on windows (de-bloat is recommended)

ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

Yeah it run and that’s about it

ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

I use Eternity (formerly known as Infinity for reddit) ui is fast and simple (still highly customizable)

ColdWater,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

That’s mean the entire game is also dull and boring combined with Beth’s mediocre story writing it’s should not cost more than a sack of potatoes

    Realistic graphics are fuxking sucks, not only it requires remotely high end PC to get a somewhat playable fps but it also eat so much storage space which is unnecessary if you play on medium or low graphics which defeated the purpose of “realism”
