It was a dark & funky Saturday evening. 🍻 #stouturday
Emporium's BRETTIBIX takes their classic stout - Obsidian - to the next level. It's now turned into a funky, fruity and vinous brew... Like a nice funky red wine.
"Brett fermented stout is Obsidian aged in pinot noir barrels with a Brett culture from Belgium."
Play Dead - Dog’s Window - 11.0% ABV. B++, strong, Pilsner, Boozy and Belgian. Very solid Ale from Bridgend #ale#beer#bier
3.5/5. Maybe not the best ale to finish off the afternoon but who stronger and better from the county town of Glamorgan 🏴 #beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
Greetings Flamboyant Flamingos (I'm running out of nouns and adjectives starting with F) of the Fediverse, it's the 5th day of the #SteamNextFest , and for me, unfortunately, the last, weekend duty calls, and I won't be able to give proper time to any other demo, so consider this last batch of impressions as my farewell to you all, until the next time
Procedurally generated FPS, from the creators of Void Bastards
The neon/cowboy/scifi setting works, the shooting is way slower paced than I imagined, the unique abilities for the characters are interesting, and the fact that you're constantly chased and need to pick your battles carefully gives a nice tension to the whole.
The demo definitely left me wanting to know more about this project, I'll take a good look at it in the months before its release
Mumbles Amber - Mumbles Brewery - 4.1% ABV. B+ and a bit. Malty, fruity, bittersweet and fruity bitter finish. Summerish #ale#beer#bier
3.3/5. The Pen and Wig, Newport where someone has left a pair of pink trainers outside and the is sweet fruity cider inside. #beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
When you drink enough of this, you know when it is over the hill. Nicely presented and topped up without asking. All part of the Cask Drinker’s journey. #beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
I have a small mini pc as server similar to [1], which has a super nice small form and has an internal slot for a 2.5" ssd disk. Currently I have a 2TB SSD, but it is filling up rapidly.
My options are:
Buy a way more expensive 8TB SSD and replace the existing one
Buy a much cheaper 8TB HDD + enclosure and connect it via USB.
I wonder what are the pros and cons of each option. I like 1 more because the form factor of the homelab is maintained and I don't need to plug yet another thing. OTOH I'm allergic to spending money 😆 so a cheaper solution (about 4 times cheaper) is always welcome.
USB is slow, and will kill the drive if used 24/7. I know it’s hard to expend too much money on a dedicated box for storage but long term you’ll thank yourself for investing.
3TB of data I lost and paying to recover that data? Dammit, hindsight is a bitch
Greetings fiery flames of the Fediverse, it's the 4th day of the #SteamNextFest , we are reaching the sunset of this event, so it is important more than ever to experience and share your curiosities before they're gone ... FOREVER!
(and by forever meaning until the successive fest)
Pipsqueak looks interesting! I don’t know how I missed it when browsing. If you like that GBA style, also check out the demo for Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo.
This one caught my eye because of the art (same artist as Braid) but the everything about this game is charming …steampowered.com/…/Arranger_A_RolePuzzling_Adven…Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure follows the story of Jemma, a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery. Venturing out beyond her stiflingly cozy confines, she finds an inspiring world - but also one ruled by fear, and a strange, immovable ‘static’ force. Can she disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit into it?
This one I played because it’s by Game Maker’s Toolkit from YouTube so was keen to see what he’d built. Also enjoyed this one and it has a cute and polished presentation style. store.steampowered.com/app/…/Mind_Over_Magnet/Mind Over Magnet: Escape a dangerous factory using the power of magnetism. You must team up with three different magnet friends and use their unique abilities to solve more than 60 tricky single-screen puzzles.
Greetings, flaming fellas of the Fediverse, we are halfway through #SteamNextFest , but that's no reason to be idle, for surprises at every corner and every genre awaits
I’ve been playing Heart of the Machine, and really enjoying it. It’s a fascinating 4x ish in a future city, in a bit of an inversion of AI Wars (same developer). Before playing, I was merely intrigued, but now I’m excitedly awaiting where it goes. It was, however, initially difficult to figure out what to do. Perhaps more UX is going to be useful here.
I’ve been playing Enotria: The Last Song. So far seems like a solid souls like but it has wicked performance issues right now. I’m really digging the vibe of the main demo city but I’m barely hitting 40fps on low settings with an RTX 3070ti
Fantastic hospitality in the small Dordrecht city brewery. They brew small scale, 8000L a year with volunteers and students. You can visit them whenever they're open and they do have a great story! They even let me taste some wort :) 🍻
I visited them in the small amount of time I had in a somewhat long train connection, that I extended by another 30 minutes. Great find!
