You joke but my dad once fell face first into a bonfire and blistered most of his face. When the skin grew back his dermatologist told him that a lot of people would kill for a skin treatment as good as what he wound up with. He was almost entirely blemish and wrinkle free when he healed.
You could probably manage the same with enough hot steam from an iron but it may take a bit longer.
I’ve never really wanted to be in the private jet billionare club but I have always wanted to be in the “have a nice paid off house and enough money to safely start a small business” club. Sure, being a billionare would get me that but what would I do with the other 99.999% of the money?
I’m willing to bet that they just didn’t want the legal hastle of collecting data on minors. Also minors are going to be more likely to lie about any potential sexual history.
As far a why they excluded man on man action I have no idea. If the origional graph was in an article about declining birth rates or something then that may explain it but idk what the original article was so idk if that is the case.
To be fair, neither are typically hand soldered in profesional environments anymore (outside of rework). Surface mount stuff gets paste and sent through a reflow oven. Through hole stuff gets wave soldered or sent through a selective solder machine. The only thing I can think of that needs to be hand soldered anymore are batteries because sending a lithium ion battery through a reflow oven or over a pot of molten metal is a bad idea.
Also, fun side fact, lithium ion batteries also explode if you stick then in antistatic bags. I’ll let you imagine how our inventory people discovered that.
In a move the EPA deemed ‘historic,’ the agency has banned chrysotile asbestos, the only form of the cancer-causing mineral that the U.S. still imports and uses
Not really. The correct way to dispose of asbestos is literally to put it in a garbage bag and send it to the dump. As far as a hazardous material it’s only really bad for people. It’s almost entirely chemically inert so it’s actually far less bad for the environment than most of the stuff that winds up in the dump. Even ocasional exposure wont do anything to most people (not that it’s good for you of course). It’s mainly an issue if you work in an industry where you handle it every day.
I had to do some asbestos remediation in my house a while back (removing plaster filled with it) and I contacted the county about proper disposal. They literally just told me to bag it and huck it in a dumpster.
Fir is used in the US (most commonly in the pacific northwest), it’s just typically used for outdoor construction because it doesn’t warp as easily and holds up far better outdoors than pine. So you will frequently see it used as decking, fences, or siding (although wood siding is getting pretty uncommon).
Fir is also sometimes used for framing like pine is but pine is usually cheaper. The only advantage fir has over pine for framing is that it tends to be a bit stronger. But there are very few places where you need that extra material strength and can’t just use slightly more reinforced pine construction to acheive the same result.
Hey, save some representation for us ace folks. Not every show/movie needs to have the main character smashing pissers with someone. Let close queer platonic friends just be what they are.
Exactly. The level scaling in particular is what killed it for me. What is the point of even having a level up mechanic if your character doesn’t actually get any stronger. Part of the fun of D2 was getting a character to a point where you could just stomp previous areas.
This may be an unpopular opinion but as I see it most of D4s microtransactions are fine (still a trash game but that’s a different point). They’re mostly just cosmetics. They only exist so that people who want to can throw money at the company. If you don’t want to buy them then just don’t buy them. Like this portal recolor one. Sure it’s $30 but it isn’t like there is any advantage to buying it. It’s not giving you faster warps to town or more xp or anything like that. It’s only there for you to throw money at blizzard and have a graphic showing that you threw money at blizzard. If you don’t want to throw $30 at blizzard for no gain then don’t throw $30 at blizzard for no gain. If a bunch of whales want to throw away their money on cosmetics then let them.
I think they meant that if you were on top of yellowstone when it went off then you wouldn’t have time to feel afraid. Your body would transition directly from being biology to being physics without even enough time to pass through being chemistry.
I mean, if you’re starving badly enough you can sometimes completely stop having your period. So in a post apocalyptic setting that one could be kind of believable.
Look at what they just did for the new D2R ladder season. There were literally no patches at all. They just reset the ladder. It’s not like there are any glaring problems cough cough mosiac cough cough that need to be fixed or anything.
For those wondering like I was, mousewheels typically use optical or magnetic rotary encoders. However some do actually use potentiometers. I’m pretty sure the one pictured is an encoder though; all of the potentiometer based mousewheels I can find are way more bulky than that.
Edit: Damn it Lemmy. Fix your sorting so I’m not accidentally commenting on 4 day old posts.
